What do you mean done? One run for a baseline? Tuned by the operator? 6-10 runs for maximal power?

It is pretty much a myth that a dyno run will help anything. A serious map can take TEN runs to get maximized powe. And it might end up being the original map.

the map i have on it now is the map that was placed on p.c.'s website. so what kind of increases could i see if i were to remap it off a dyno?

How much money you willing to spend? You might pick up 2-7 hp and better midrange, you might not. The map you have now may be excellent.

Tough to guess at possible power gains/losses without current baseline dyno numbers.

In simple terms it's kind of like guessing how much I will weigh after eating at a buffet without knowing what I weigh now.

I'd just run a baseline and see where you fuel/air ratio mixes are. If they're in the ballpark, just go out and ride. If it's way off and needs correcting, then you can have that done. Modern bikes make so much horsepower that as long as it's running right and you're not having problems with rideability, and as long as it's not overly lean or rich so that engine damage is a possibility, just ride the thing.

Fair price...What a great line. Fair price means both parties come away happy, not just the buyer. I'm not exactly sure, but it was + or - $300.00 to work on my bike for a few hours to get the best map I could get from Dan Kyle. Maybe more now. I think it was definitly a FAIR PRICE. I was very happy with the results.

If all you have is a slip-on, you don't really need a dyno tune. That's assuming the bike is stock otherwise. Dynojet's website has maps for just about every pipe combo out there, and the right map will probably be close enough and just fine for normal riding.

If you try that and you're still getting tangible running problems, i.e. hesitation, surging, rough running etc. then Factory Wheelsmith in Terra Linda (just north of San Rafael, 30 mins from Alameda) is one of the world's best tuners. $300-$350 usually.

Actually, now that I think about it, they can reprogram most late-model Suzukis right at the ECU, and you don't need a PC at all. They set up my 2005 SV650 track bike for about the same cost as a PC, and my bike's modified enough that there aren't any good standard maps available.
