does anyone know of a good machine shop that taps bolts out for a reasonable price?
i've tried a few things already and failed, that's why I'm skipping the "does anyone know how to" part. I've stripped the damn thing round, drilled a hole through it and put an easy out skrew in, snapped the bloody easy out into the hole, tried torx bit, and now just tired of wasting time and energy. sooo, if you can help me by pointing me in the right direction, i'd REALLLLLY appreciate it. Thanks!

Is there room enough to carefully grind the head off and remove the part that's being held by the bolt? If so, then after the head is off, you may be able to grip the threaded part that's left sticking out with some vice grips and easily remove it.

I'm not sure if that's an option because there's blu loctite on the bolt. :( I've actually thought of trying that... i'm in a bad spot forseriously.

Bummer. What is that fastener holding that blue Locktight is necessary? I can't think of anything that a 4mm fastener would be holding that would require blue Locktite.

it's the part of the right footpeg attached to the mastercylinder. it's freaking weak.

dremel a straight slot on the head and use a flathead screwdriver.

first of all if there is blu locktite on the bolt and a channel locks or vice grips wont work a slot with a flat head screwdriver wont work either, best option to get it out is to heat area around the bolt, and then use a punch to carefully rotate the bolt out.:thumbup

here's the situation:
the top was successfully removed, and as you can see, the bottom is in a world of hurt... for me that is. :(

Edited.. NVM. I guess that blue locktite is just too strong. Goodluck, anyway...

I'd still go for cutting two slots in it with a small cut-off wheel, then using a Snap-On impact driver with an thick #3 phillips head socket. One solid whack from a quality hammer, and presto, you will be able to turn it out by hand. Anyway, good luck. These are the gremlins of working on machines.

Ive removed hundreds of stripped bolts throughout the years and have found that cutting a slot in the head usually does two things, 1. weakens the integrity of the head of the bolt, as in cut the slot and when you go to whack it it shears most of the bolt head off, and 2. makes acually removing a really stuck bolt damn near immpossible to remove. The easiest way to remove a bolt other then with the proper tool is to use a punch and heat.

This is why EZ-outs suck. They're very hard and snap with any side force.
You can break the loc-tite bond with heat. It doesn't take much- 200 degrees or so. Hold a piece of scrap metal up to protect the M/C.
The punch trick works. You use the punch to turn the bolt, so you're hitting it off-axis. Sometimes it helps to use a dremel tool to grind a flat so you can get the punch solidly on the part.
I have had good luck with grinding a slot and using an impact driver and hammer. Just don't grind the slot too deep.
Whichever you try, do it when the part is still warm.

2 words... Pencil Torch.
You could have heated up the threaded area of the rear set (Not alot, enough to de-crystalize the locktite) and then unscrew the bolt. After grinding a slot, and using a flat head screw driver.

i heated it and then used the punch, why use the dreml to cut slots when you dont have to?:wtf

Simplicity. Not like you'll be reusing the bolt anyways. And a dremel would have taken 10 seconds to cut a slot. :thumbup
