Anyone know if they make 125cc conversion kits for the RS50s? TIA

edit-> maybe i should also ask...is it viable to make the RS50 a trackbike since it's low cost and streetable. Or just go for a used Rs250 instead?

250 sounds the ticket. I don't think you can take a 50 even modded out on a track day, the speed differential to the big bikes is just too great ie. top of 70 mph vs. 140+ just too unsafe. some have strict displacement guidelines. however, there are some groups / races just for the small bores. up at sacto I think. a 50 chassis is woefully inadequate for near tripling the engine capacity.

I have an RS50, and there is definitely lots of room in there if you wanted to drop in a bigger motor... The frame is plenty strong, but the swingarm is a little dinky. Someone on the Apriliaforum dropped in a bigger 4-stroke in theirs, so maybe as there... I'm actually thinking about selling mine (it's fully kitted) to get a trackbike... I also have a few aircooled yz125 motors laying around.... :teeth

Somebody tell these guys!

YSR - Extreme Bikes (http://www.ticeman.com/old_site/ysrs/)

Check out the YZ426F conversion.

meant the little priller but applies to all. even those guys know eg. click on the first bike and this is what it starts with, "This is a HIGHLY modified and braced YSR chassis..." the next bike description says, "The frame is substantially beefier than it was with the YSR/YZ125 when I first built it, although it still has a tendency to break engine mount bolts from vibration..." third bike, "The next thing was a brake. It was very obvious that the engine was way above what the brakes could handle and I HAD to do something. " etc. I rest my case!

very cool link though! those guys are insane :loco

I agree, but didn't this thread start before the forum was created. If I were a Mod then I'd move it for ya.
