Got a speeding ticket day before Haloween! He wrote me going 45 in a 30 but I know I wasn't going that fast. Don't want to fight it. No prior tickets, but pissed as people routinely drive up and down my street going 50+, whipping over the double yellow line to pass you up, with their brights on.
Someone told me that I could request that the VC violation could be switched to a municipal code violation that does not get reported to DMV. I can do traffic school but don't want to run the risk that it will be viewed on my record even it they say it doesn't and it is just the principle of the thing. Has anyone been sucessful doing such a switch. How do you ask for it? Someone told me to approach the cop before the hearing and if he agrees, the judge will most likely? If he doesn't, I can tell the judge I don't want to fight it and want to go to traffic school. No harm, no foul? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. By the way, how would I even know which muni code violation would be comparable and would a muni code infraction come back to haunt me more than a traffic violation?
