BARFers: This is my parents condo. They live in L.A. and my stepmom got a job with Children's Hospital of Oakland. They purchased this condo as part of the job to live up here, and now she is moving back down south. I posted this a few months ago, and after some back and forth with her job depending on whether she would stay up here or be able to move back home, they have decided to sell it. There is a significant price drop, as they are serious.
Here is my Craigslist ad:

This condo is FULLY FURNISHED, meaning it's turn-key ready to move in, includes everything down to the finest detail. All furniture in pictures is included, as well as a brand new widescreen high definition LCD TV installed in the bedroom!

ha ha ....good luck.
Right now with all the forclosures and dipshits who thought they would make millions are stuck with their shit or leaving it outright. I am sitting back right now and waiting for the right time to buy. I figure I have until june july of 08 to really get into a house, but I think the economy is in worse shape then we all think. Banks are holding out about reporting their losses....and its only climbing in the debts and losses....love it love it.
Run for the hills folks your paying too much for your current house and its not worth that anymore!!! lol
Sorry, but I had too.
my offer...? 440k by the time you buckle or stay in it.

to add one more note just imagine all the fools who refinanced and took the extra money and bought new cars with it...lol now the payment is too high and the home is not worth that much. Hardest hit Stockton-Tracy, Sacramento, Fairfield and Vallejo....Emeryville is slowly. I understand why you would want to get out now...I would too.
BTW you have a bad ass looking place..nice job.

Hooli....it is a nice feeling sitting in the back row watching people freak the hell out about their monthly payment. In fact a buddy of mine who had a condo in Alameda simply walked away because he said the dayum thing wasn't worth the 3400.00 he was paying and he said fook it its only 7 years on his credit.

Thats what I said when I was 18. Didnt care much for my credit. Now its haunting me. I pay super high interest rates and have to come up with more money down for stuff. 7 years is a long time.

Hey that is a nice place... Best of luck selling it.. I have to say it too.. Baker make a offer... BUt funny as home prices drop wouldn't you think your property taxes drop as well? I called cuz mine went UP this year again.. They said "Well just because you can not sell your home for what it was worth LAST year, does not mean it is not worth it" I am like "Are you kidding? My home dropped 200-300K this year and my taxes went up 3K.. Isn't it only worth what someone will pay for it?
In the city if you have a great a job the original 519K you were asking seems ok... 440 is waay better for sure... :)

my sister used to live at PPP when she was going to Cal, that was over a decade ago
that place is hella nice
she lost her wallet in the parking lot 3 times
all 3 times she got everything back, with all cash and everything :) Nice community
im not sure how relevant this is but the walls and and floors are pour concrete if im not mistaken. you can make as much noise as you want and the neighbors wont hear you. i had a friend that lived there and we would make a lot of noise, never had a complaint.

The whole building is concrete for earthquake safety, and it actually uses pretty cool technology to ride through a big quake.
Anyway yeah, it's dead quiet. Of the people I've talked to, no one has ever heard anyone else, no matter how loud they were.
