New rider!
Im new to the scene and lookin for advice!
I have found a 2002 suzuki GsxR 600 with 3000 miles on it and a few extras.
Asking price is 5000. Anyone got feedback on that price? Should I go lower?(dont want to pay to much but I dont want to lowball the guy) I dont know much about bikes so any advice (about this bike or anything else) is greatly appreciated! Thanks
And to introduce myself!

What's the condition of the bike?
Title status?
Mechanical issues?
All that affects the price..
And leave the "Hollering" for the m4m section on Craigslist. :twofinger

That's right.. Have you gotten your license yet? Or taken the MSF? If you have neither, I really suggest reconsider buying a 600cc bike right off the bat. But if you do have or taken the above... :thumbup

sorry to snap at yall. Its hard to hear sarcasm through text. I just really need the advice. I want a bigger bike because I know I'll get bored fast with a smaller one. But also I dont want to over do it! What did you guys start on? I understand people saying not start on a 600cc because it alot of power ffor a newbie.

im 17 years old and im a newbie
(i been riding with my permit for 6 months get my license this month)
I started on a Kawasaki Ninja 650R, it was a really nice bike for me to start on it
its a 2 cylinder (honda r6 for 4 bangers) but the 650 has lots of power, 0-60 in like 3.7 seconds its a very forgiving!
I would say for sure check this bike out, i still ride it because seriously unless you have been riding for a year or so you really don't need anything more powerful. I absolutely looooove my 650!
or if you like the naked look, check out the SV650:thumbup

I totally understand where you're coming from, and I know it gets old having zealots push the Ninja 250. It's a fine bike (I'd love one!), but some people just don't want one, for whatever reason. If you think you'd tire of it quickly, fine.
However, regarding 600s, I highly recommend you check out insurance costs for a supersport. 600s cost a lot more for new (especially young) riders to insure, vs. something like a SV650, or Ninja 650 [let alone the EX].

I have been looking at both of those bikes. My only issue is the seating style looks to be very upright. I'm sure its comfortable but how does it feel when you in the twistys? Did u buy new or used? I heard the insurance is cheaper on a used bike.

the seating style on the Ninja650R for me has been great, it is very comfortable when taking long rides or or just cruising the streets. I dont ride the twisties as much as I would like to but I can tell you that every time i have I have never had discomfort or thought anythign bad of it.
I bought my Ninja brand new its a 2007, my insurance is only $50 a month with progressive, but i have the bare minimum which you should get better if you can afford it because drops happen, bumps happen, shit gets stolen. I would say it would probably be cheaper just because it isnt worth as much as a brand new bike so they dont have to cover as much so you probably wouldn't have to pay as much...but only one way to find out.
but go to a dealer and sit on one and see how you like it, personally i love it. and you can always get after market handlebars and thigns to give you a sportier seating liek an R6 if you ever want to get serious about hardcore racing and riding
