Just curious. I'm kinda in the market for another bike and I'm intrigued by the huge interest in the XR50. Why the craze? It seems like a fun toy, but the XR100/CRF150 or TTR125LE seem more versatile. I'm also concerned about fitting the bike (5'10", 150#). Thanks.

Most of the 50's that have recently been purchased will never see the dirt. i.e.: Stunting :teeth

Is it easy to learn to wheelie an XR50 even though it has an automatic clutch? Would it be easier to stunt an XR100?

THe appeal is the fact that it is cheap, easy to ride, easy to stunt, easy to modify, etc..

When you fall, you don't die, break anything, (Usually).

You can throw it in your trunk.

Most of the people buying them, already have big street bikes. A lot already have big dirt bikes also. It's just an addition.

John - Did you get yours yet?

I just have to buy some bigger handle bars for mine, and I'll be all set....

Like Megyar said, mine will probably never see the dirt. Or if it does, it won't be very often.

I ordered my bars and springs on sat. Once they come in the bike will fit my just fine, mine on the otherhand will be seeing dirt, I'll take it out to hollister and what not with me when i ride the big bike and I'm down to take it out to calabazas and jump it a bit too.

i have a dirt flat track in my back yard. a 50 is just the right
size for it. (40' X 25') this where i practice my slides.

i'd use it as a pit stunt and dirt bike :thumbup but a new 1 costs more than my race bike! :cry
