Hi,

I just signed up and would like to introduce myself. I have not ridden in a very long time--about 20 years. I recently got to thinking about riding again, for a whole host of reasons which I'm sure everyone here can relate with. Prior to this I rode for about 5 years so I am not a terribly experienced rider to begin with. Therefore I am going to first enroll in a safety course then get a starter bike to practice on. Not sure what yet but I think it'll be loads of fun deciding.

There's lots of great information here and I look forward to getting reacquainted with riding.

Sounds like a great plan. Hope you find the sport all you wish it to be.
Hit up the training forum for questions on that sort of stuff.

Welcome.

Not sure about how old you are, but I did not start riding until I was close to 50. From personal experience, I'd advise you to just take it slow and remember your reflexes are not what they used to be. :laughing

re-welcome to riding, and welcome to barf! i too took a 20 year hiatus from riding, and bought my "first" bike last year. the msf riding course is a must, even though you are certain you know everything there is to know.

cars are more powerful and more advanced to the point where people over drive them well beyond their limits as drivers, and motorcycles have changed equally, with more power and features as well. it is good to re learn your stills, especially those concerning interacting with modern cars. but it is a great thing, riding and i hope you find enjoyment in that, and make friends here at barf.

best to you!
