I'm movng out and helping my roomate find a replacement. Its a sweet place, but I'm through with renting. My roomate works in downtown oakland for a law firm. His car will be outside the garage door, but there's room to get in/out. We are very fortunate to have parking so close to the Lake! And you can be too! It is a safe neighborhood for those who immediately think Oakland = homicide... couldn't be more wrong in this area!

You may have seen it on Craigslist. Wayne @ Hanover, Oakland 94606.
Looking for working age male to fill one room. $1,350 total rent, we will negotiate depending on ammenities. Vacant room is ~11x14ft, walk in closet ~5x8ft, remodled kitchen w/ granite counters, track lighting, decent cooking space and dining area, sunny living room big enough to accomodate 5-10 guests for movie night or whatever. This 2bdrm/1ba unit also has a personal garage, off street, opens to courtyard, with storage rack and plenty of space [long wise]. Perfect for car nuts, safe, secure, covered space w/ locking garage door. Awning on side of courtyard, by stairs, very motorcycle friendly. Located one block away from Lake Merritt, across the street form Lucky's, Merritt Bakery, ex-Hollywood Video.... Trader Joe's up Lakeshore @ Grand. ~10min walk to Lake Merritt BART, ~12min walk to Casual Carpool under 580 overpass [for SF commuters]/Farmers Mkt every Sat. A bicycle ride from all Oakland's ammenities.

Walkway overlooking off street courtyard + garages: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v142/jy116/1215071354.jpg

+1 Been here for a few years (near the Lake). Nice area...every city has its bad side, Oakland just seems to get most of the negative attention.
