Damn these pics look way fun. I think I will go to the dealer at lunch time. I don't know how to do any stunts or tricks, would the tricks learned on the mini translate into being able to do it on a full size bike? Also wondering, how do you guys wheelie the bikes without a clutch? Thanks for any info.

The only thing I think that will transfer to the big bike, is a small amount of the throttle control you learn.?

Wheelies are easy. Get the bike in the powerband, let off for a milli-second, hit the throttle, and lean back!

You'll also learn mad brake control. That will only translate for 12 O'clocks on the big bike and you need a lot more than just 50 stunnin to 12, but the throttle control will help for normal wheelies and stuff.

What exactly will I need to buy to get it to fit me? (5'10", 150#)

What are 12 o'clocks? Are they vertical stoppies?

jonb

perfectly vertical slow wheelies.

Can stoppies be done just on those stock little drum brakes?

I'm gonna head over to the bike shop in a couple of hours. I'm also gonna take a look at the xr100. My main goal for getting a bike is stunting. For the few hundred dollars to upgrade the 50 bars/throttle and suspension, I could just get a 100. Wouldn't the 100 be almost as easy to learn stunting? What's the downside to getting a 100 vs 50 for stunting (besides sharing the contagious fanaticism of the 50 owners on this forum)?

dunno :thumbup all i can say is the aftermarket for the 50 is sick. just kind of cool to be able ot pimp the smallest bike on the market.

I got a 100. It's not really fun to stunt on.

For the <$2000> you will spend, you might as well find a real stunt bike??

true get an ol f3 and pimp it.

I just called my local bike shop and they've got the 50's in stock. Anyone know what the OTD price at Honda of Milpitas is? I think I may spring for the 50 today. What's the order of upgrades? I guess: bar/clamp/throttle, fork springs, new rear shock, pipe? You guys are helpful; thanks.

i think the deal at milpitas is in the 13huns right now. talk to dennis and see what shakes down.

do suspension and bars if need be.

1300.00 OTD is a good price for a 2003 XR50. that's 100.00 over
dealer cost.

Honda Mil was doing better than that last month on the XR50s - not sure about now, though.

DMAN ROCKS!

i learned better balance with my body with the fiddy as compared to just throttle control on my big bike. Also did my first endo/stoppie on the big bike riding to work this morning, after doing it on the fiddy...the fiddy is definitely a good place to start learning and practicing....

DRZ

do NOT try to wheelie by doing the 1st to 2nd shift. That is a guarantee to loop.

Just throttle and lean back in 2nd or 3rd.

NOW you tell me :rolleyes :toothless
some guys gotta' learn the hard way!

JJKG!!! but that damn thing can power wheelie, unbelievable!

Devin

ya...just lean back and pull up...2nd gear is the wheelie gear. Dont pop in second to begin your wheelie...leave it in second and pull up. When you get good you can wheelie in any gear but learn in second. Biggest key is rear brake control for long wheelies. I never have my foot off the break now in all wheelies on the 50.
