I'm am still amazed at the immaturity and irresponsible actions of the people who promise to uphold the laws.
So the Sonoma County cops have been doing their k9 training thing lately and I happened to be lucky enough to observe about thirty off duty officers in civilian vehicles heading north on hwy. 101 to a training sight during fairly heavy traffic condition @ 3:30pm.
We entered the freeway at the same time and at least 20 of these officers immediately "pinned it" passing wherever possible and basically racing each other up the freeway. I chose not to follow as they were doing speeds of 85-90 mph. I did however drive with the remaining officers who were traveling at approx. 80 mph. After travelling for thirty miles I can tell you that these people are some of worst drivers on the road. No blinkers, unsafe lane changes, following to close, etc. etc. etc..
To others on the freeway this looked like the average imbeciles driving like typical shit, but I knew the truth..... these were the imbeciles we pay to protect? us.
If any of you cops are wondering why so many have so little respect for you and what you do, now ya know. :mad
Please try and be safe out there.

Rather than bitch here, drop by the agency they are from and file a complaint with the watch commander or his boss. I suspect that might have more effect.

I presume they fall straight in the trash as soon as I leave the office since I have never been informed of any follow up.

funny, I'll bet most uninformed civilians base opinions of all motorcyclists on the actions of a few idiots as well. Fortunately that doesn't bother anyone.

Motorcyclists aren't sworn to protect and serve and they sure don't receive a paycheck from the taxpayers.
Police officers are held to a higher standard, on or off duty. Don't ya think?

I think being able to speed around without worring about being cited; is one of the perks of the job.. seeing as they have to deal with being a public servent and all, which isn't all that it's made up to be.. lots of politics and bullshit if you ask me..
Let em speed around.. so we can too.. I guess I have a different view of public service than other folks seeing as my old man has been a FF for almost 30 years now.. Lots of politics.. lots..

I'm definately not against speeding. If conditions allow you to go fast then do it, safely.
The issue here is dangerous driving. Oh and also the little fact these same people write tickets hand over fist for the same speeding offense. I have countless tickets for 80mph in this same stretch of highway to prove it.

Request a follow up and if you don't get one go up one level in complaints.
I used to have a shop in SF next to a busy sandwich shop. The Central Station LEOs would double park on one side and the muni busses on the other, completely blocking traffic. I called in complaint and the watch commander told me they were "investigating". I laughed and told him the only they were investigating was the salami on rye. I then filed a complaint with the lieutenant, who was PISSED.

Yeah.. and to that unexplainable shit..I say.... "GOD BLESS AMERICA!" Aint' it a bitch??
I've recieved my fair share of velocity awards since I moved here but I've also gotten out of one because this certin chip'er was a nice guy and a motor, all of whom I hold in high regard.. he said the cop that gave me a tkt was a rookie.. He tells me to keep it under 90.. Rip rip.. .
So.. <shrug> sometimes you have to take one for the team.. Wrong place.. wrong time.. just don't speed or even stop, for that matter, in WEED california.. thoes guys take their job serious.. I was pulled over twice.. once on the way there and once on the way back.. in the same week.. in the same car.. WTF? Am I back in South Carolina???

I see it all the time by officers on duty too.
This shit about, "maybe they're responding to a silent call", or "maybe....".
fuk that, I've followed several to a bux by my work and many times they should have been written for reckless.:|
Lead by example doesn't apply to some, sad.:(
but whatever, there are some good LEO's out there, and some even do a great job.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
This forum is not a place to voice your lack of respect, however valid you may feel it is (or isn't). This forum is a place to ask reasonable questions (preferably that are related to motorcycling as well) to law enforcement officers who are nice enough to spend their free-time to help you.
You can go to www.realpolice.net and gripe if you wish, or you can go to a million other griping forums. This is not the place to do it.

:wtf So, let me get this straight.. you have little respect for ME becasue of something you saw a bunch of yahoos do up in Sonoma County?
Just checking. :thumbup
Antarius is correct. This is not the place to "vent" about your distain for cops. This is a place to seek information, insight and assistance. If it becomes a place for anti-police rants and cop stereotyping, then the people that are here to help provide information, insight and assistance will be gone.
If you don't appreciate the resource we have set up for you here, please don't screw it up for those that do. I have no doubt your anti-cop rants will be well received in the General Forum.
