My '82 Seca550 is having issues again. :(

It was starting/running fine for a couple of weeks after a carb cleaning and, out of the blue, it decided not to start again. I'd get the wrrrrr sound (starter), but the engine would not turn over. Battery is fine, gas is in the tank, and the fuel is turned on and I see the gas in the inline fuel filter.

On top of it, the headlight went out. I got a new headlight and installed it, but it still didn't work. Is the fuel system connected in some way to my headlight? Could I have fried a wire trying to start the bike?

Should I change the gas in the tank? Should I look at my fuel pump? What can I look for to give me a clue?

Thanks guys,
Mindy

pull a sparkplug, put it back in the boot, and then lay the tip on the engine so it is touching something metal. Don't hold onto it (or else zzzaaapp, yeaow!) and crank the engine.

Is there a spark?

-MATT

Seca's are nortorious for fuse issues. Check your fuses under your seat. Also check the connectors to the fuses. Mose people change the fuse box in the seca because of its failure rate.
