Officer safety on the west coast is way different than officer safety in Georgia.

I've seen that before. There's a longer clip available on YouTube (sorry too lazy to find it) that provides useful context. Came after a fair amount of car chase, iirc they knew a gun was involved.

The scary thing I see in Oakland as far as office safety is Moto cops pulling someone over, using their bike to partially block traffic, and sticking their head in a left hand window to talk to the driver while their bike is supposed to stop traffic from hitting them. Morons.
You won't see CHP sticking their butt out into traffic..

Ernie- High speed vs low speed, and it's the Officer's discretion on which side to approach the car, depending on traffic conditions and speed. It's better to have the bike hit than the Officer. Using any vehicle to block traffic is better than no vehicle.

Each has its advantages and disadvantages. One exposes you more to traffic. One places you at a disadvantage from attack by the driver.
I use both depending on the situation, traffic, offense suspected, and other factors.

If his ass was not in traffic I agree, but it was. And all he had to do was move to the right side where he could stand on a sidewalk.
