So I was having a charging problem with my Kawi (go figure) did some trouble shooting and ended up replacing the Stator and Voltage Regulator, with an OEM part brand new. So put it all together and start it up and put the volt meter on it and something is wrong (go figure) trace it back again and it’s the dam brand new OEM Voltage regulator unit.
(What the hell) so my question is has that ever happen to anyone else??? Called the dealership no problem we will warranty it BLA BLA bring it in it may take a couple of weeks. Man what a pain in the you know what...
Odd to think that the OEM part that failed you once could fail you twice? :2cents
With that said - I can understand how frustrating this must be. Maybe just maybe you didn't diagnose the problem wrong? Maybe another part has failed that is killing your new OEM parts? I don't know enough to diagnose your electrical system but if you're running into such headaches - why not drop it off at a reputable shop where the guessing will end?

The first one was not OEM it was aftermarket the new one was OEM. An I had 2 friends who own there own shops confirm my results. That’s why I’m Stumped, but it is a Kawi LOL and I have had electrical problems with them before. I have heard of parts coming from OEM that didn’t work but never a Voltage Regulator. I guess anything is possible
You could be smoking the new regulator with another faulty part of your charging system that you might have mis-diagnosed, no?
Good luck! :thumbup
(I'm not a mechanic - just a Honda owner who has had to replace stators and regulators in my past...I still don't quite understand the entire charging system. Black magic voodoo stuff...)

What he said
Once you have some electrical issues and it is under warranty let the dealer figure it out.
It may take some time but you will be better off in the end.
Electrical issues in the charging system can cause all sorts of havoc with the rest of your system
Frying other components in the process sometimes
Don't ask me how I know.

You and me both with the CBR1Krrs my 04 gave me a damn 6 month long headache with those stators, finally they recalled the stator/flywheel combo on it after fighting with Honda for a year.
God I hate electrical issues. The factory troubleshooting manual and an ohm meter are your friends.
