I dont have the cash to get a handlebar kit yet so for now I drilled new holes in the topclamp and moved the stock bars forward. I drilled them about an inch forward of the stock holes and it gives me a much easier time riding with stock bars.

Pics:
You can see where the stock holes are

Cut the welds at the front bend them forward, reweld. You can also and some spacers under the bars.

:laughing When I bought my KX(which is now Bad Dads) I had a cast on my leg. So I added mods to it for 3 weeks before I could even ride it.

great DIY modding there! I was thinking two blocks of aluminum but I don't have a drill press or anything. they aftermarket stuff is pretty trick looking too with the engraving and all.

but free is FREE :teeth

i've never seen this before, but this is how a couple of my friends have thier fiddys set up. it wouldnt be that cheap if you had to buy parts new, but they all had this laying around.

first, pull you stock bars, throw them in the trash.

take the stock handlebar clamps off your CR125 or 250, cause of course you are running pro tapers on your 125.

put the clamps through the stock triple clamps, you'll need to put a spacer on the bottom of the t-clamp, cause the stud coming off the CR clamps is too long, a piece of sprinkler pipe works.

now bolt on some BMX bars, didnt we all ride bmx in our younger years?

at this point you wanna slide the throttle on, but you first have to bust out the demmel and grind off a pin inside the throttle so it will slide on.

so when you slide the throttle on, it binds on the bend of the bar, the problem is that most of us cut down our bmx bars so we could do bar spins easier. the full on TCG aproach is to just not slide it on all the way. but if you drop it a few too many times on the right side, the throttle tube will break.

either you live with that, or gasp buy some bars that have a longer straight section of bar.

two issues i'm not sure about, you might need to drill out the holes in the tripple clamp, not that big of a deal. the other is i'm not sure if it will work with a stock xr50 throttle, in true TCG fassion we're pimping Z50s, and it works with the Z50 throttle.

sorry for the long how too, but this is how my buddies run bigger bars on thier 50s, it seems to work pretty good, and it might help some people here.

I have been moddin' our fiddy's bars for a while now. First it was the cut and weld job, but now I am bending our own bars. I'll see if I can get some pics of the 2 bars I have made. They are sick!!!! I have also made my own seat/tank lift kit. The seat and tank now sits 3 inches higher and 2 inches further back. The lift kit combined with the custom bars, scrape bar, and blown piston ring makes the best fiddy stunner ever!!!!!!!!
