Hi

i did a search and didn't find anything covering this. I ride to work every day, and started noticing that after i let it run for a few minutes to warm up (my temp gauge kicks on at 104) and up until engine temp is 160/180 degrees, the bike is very responsive to the throttle. After warming up past 180/190 its not sluggish, but it definitely doesn't respond as quick, there's (what feels like) a noticeable drop in power. I was wonder if this could mean i just need to gap some cooler weather plugs, or its due to something that could potentially be more serious. I just broke the 50XXX mile mark on the bike, and do all the basic maintenance, but it looked like it was ridden hard when i bought it last march. Thanks and happy new year!

Sounds like the fuel mixture is on the rich side. Typically if it gets better as the bike gets warmer, it is running lean. The opposite applies when the fuel mixture is rich.

my thoughts exactly. 89 fzr suffered the same ailment due to worn emulsion tubes (essentially causing a rich condition)
