Pretty much, my friend took off my tail for me so I can put a custom fender eliminator kit on. Ever since that day, my 07 GSX-R 600 has been having problems starting. It seems like every time the bike will start, the next time I try to start it, the battery or starter seems to keep getting weaker and weaker. Now, I know it's not the battery because I tried my brother's working battery off his F4i and saw the same problem.

If I leave the bike off for a long time (a day or so) and start it up, it will fire up right away. It sounds like there is some sort of short, so I took the entire tail section off. It seemed to be a little better, but eventually stopped starting again. So then I took off the fender eliminator kit, same thing.

I can't really describe it, so I recorded it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwsDWb6lbYs

I got lucky and it started in the video, but won't anymore. I can now hear it crank, but will not turn over. If I keep trying, it will stop cranking and all I can hear is clicking when I push the start button.

Does this sound like a short? Or did something coincidentally go bad? Thanks in advance, and any help is greatly appreciated!

Happy new years, by the way:Party

I don't know about your bike, but on mine there's a bunch of wiring just below the seat, including the regulator/rectifier, my alternator connection, the ignition control module, and the fuel cut relay. If your bike has similar stuff in that area you may want to go over all the connectors and make sure nothing is loose.

you might want to check your tip over sensor. O n there newer Suzukis its located in the tail section . Located right above the brake light it has a arrow engraved on it ...indicating which way it needs to face and point... If your buddy by chance moved it, it can cause some of the problems you mentioned.

holy f***. i forgot to mention. the bike seems to not start whenever the bike is upright. but when it's on the kickstand, it'll almost always try to turn over. i'll check this, thanks!!

okay, so i took off that sensor and tilted it. the bike definitely didn't start and the FI light started blinking. once i set it back to it's normal position, the FI light doesn't blink (solid red in on position). checked for any codes and came up with a C00 (which i believe is normal). it will keep cranking when the TOS is layed on it's side, so i don't think the battery or starter is the problem. it's beginning to sound like a fuel problem. i'll do some more troubleshooting tomorrow evening so my neighbors don't get pissed at me for being so loud :X

thanks for you help!

edit: i don't think this really matters, but i also wanted to note that i am able to push start the bike and it will start
