Hey guys,

This is a shot in the dark, but I'm looking for a clean Datsun Z to work on and drive (preferably 240, but I'll consider an early 280). I am willing to trade my 2001 SV650 streetfighter, a truly awesome bike that is set up just the way I want. It's fast, sounds great, and looks amazing. A cash offer might take it too, but I prefer a Zed or similar project. 925-330-8284. More pics at request.

Registration paid through 6/08.

Good:
Ohlins rear shock
SRAD GSXR 750 front end drilled out and reinforced for handlebar risers
Buell XB windscreen and headlight, custom mounted
Acewell custom gauge
K&N filter, airbox opened up and carbs tuned by Lineaweaver
opened up stock exhaust
frame sliders
sintered pads
new tire will be installed
recent oil change
TCM rearsets and knurled pegs
barend mirrors

Bad:
left frame slider was road tested, but the tank got out with no problem
top of tank has a small dent
true mileage unknown, because of gauge swap. Probably around 20k.

side shot. I replaced the seat today.

$3200. If it dries up this weekend come out for a test ride. Just bring proper gear, M1, and cash.

AHHH I'm NOT selling my bike!

Looks like I've found some place to keep it while I'm going to school. Bike is no longer for sale.

:twofinger

PS Ratters, let's ride together soon.

it's not much good as a commuter since it's still a 4sp. freeway speeds i'm revving it at about 3.5k. too high for my liking and w/ the triple mikuni's in there, it's already chugs gas.

that's my excuse anyway

If it's worth the trouble, go find a 5 spd, it's the exact same ratio as the 4spd with that extra gear in overdrive.

Weird how both 4spd and 5spd were available in the same years.

What those cars really need is a Porsche 928 style gearbox that sits in the rear, behind the driveshaft, cause the rear end is too light on those Z's. It only handles good with a full tank of gas.
