All my bicycles, with the exception of my folding bike, are custom builds by your's truly. I thought these just kicked my ass :laughing

My little build is tame compared to these - I'm thinking a big fork with a big wheel. Back to the ol' drawing board.

All my builds are from frame up. Ask Kelly how ridiculous I get with bicycles. It's like a serious OCD thing with me.
These are my garage sale finds that I restored and re-painted and sold.

Here's my daily ride (fixed gear). I found the frame in some bushes that I made some kid dig out at Red Devil DJ's. The vintage fork is off some old Schwinn. Mix in some BMX parts and viola - FUN! The beer bottle opener was fully functional, but it fell off when it got caught in my bike stand :(

How do you like your Vueltas? I have some pros on my specialized, and so far so good. I could see myself with a single speed someday, but fixies are not for me (poor knees)

Nice John...
The Vueltas are good! For the price especially (I think I paid $180 for the set and 15T fixed cog + shipping). The rear has a flip flop hub if I wanted to throw the optional freewheel on there. They remain true to this day, which is braggable knowing my fat ass!!

I guess I could have just read your sig and figured that out...duh.
I would type some things in here, but would probably just get in trouble for making clamper statements without actually being a clamper. My friends are all Chapter58.
sorry for the jack.....cool bikes. :teeth

I just gave a Raleigh Superbe away - it was given to me and I passed it on to a good home to be restored. Perhaps you would have been a more worthy recipient? :rolleyes It was all there as far as I could tell, albeit a bit rough. It amazed me that the paint was faded (to say the least), but all the decals survived!
Nice looking bikes you built. I have a couple of old Specialized bikes that you may have inspired me to keep and play with.:nerd

Im glad to see you have the good sense to put a brake on your fixed gear bike. I'm not sure if the kid who got wiped out on Jessie st. the other day had one or not but who knows if it would have helped anyway. :(
I was also wondering Dion, have you ever been to the Hellyer Park Velodrome? I have been kicking around the idea of taking one of there Saturday beginner classes to see if i would be into it.

Yo Mike!
My original intention for fixed gear riding was to cross train for dirt (which has paid extremely huge dividends - more than I imagined) and it all came down to me getting into the whole fixed gear thing. You know, I tried to get back to my BMX roots, but it was a rough go, and now I just enjoy cycling.
All my bikes are working bikes - and I'll shoot the pics without the racks, bags, computers and lights that I normally have on there. All my bikes also have Incredibells, which are loud little fuckers. The velodrome sounds cool, but it's not my thing. My bikes are geared soley for urban.
As far as the front brake goes, IMHO, I think riding without SOME kind of braking system (not just leg power) is poser'ish. There's absolutely NO reason to ride brakeless on the street. It's not "being pure" or "to save weight". Like sportriders taking off their mirrors and turn signals - it's just dumb.
I do admit, I have a small, little side business that caters to the fixed gear group and that's this: www.uglypads.com
They actually do well, and I don't believe pads are for posers as I feel better leaning my frame up against poles and trees. :teeth

My cheapo Schwinn Prelude Singlespeed conversion. It's actually not a bad bike. I bought it for CeruleanSkye, but it didn't fit her right, so I took it and converted it + added the Dion flat black paint scheme. I'm still waiting for some cross tires and a 3/32" half link to see if I can eliminate the chain tensioner, which I'm pretty sure will work.
You know y'all like the vintage headbadge.

Those are sweet looking bikes.:thumbup The Raleigh Superbe is up for grabs - the person I gave it to decided it's too far gone for one of his restorations. Oh well.
