View Full Version : BARF ONLY Any '08 invoice + $200, any '07 at invoice, ends 1/16/08 (extended to 1/19)

We did this in 2006 for the first time, and it got 7 BARFers new bikes. (http://www.bayarearidersforum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=148534)

We did it last year for the second time, and it got 10 BARFers new bikes. (http://www.bayarearidersforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=189439)

Once again, for just over a week only, nearly any brand-new 2008-model bike in inventory is yours for the invoice price from the factory to us, plus $200 plus fees - tax, doc, license and $100 freight/setup. Any new Honda, Hyosung, Kawasaki, Kymco or Suzuki.

Any new 2007 model or older still in inventory is yours for our invoice cost from the factory, plus tax, doc & license only. That's right, our invoice cost - what we pay to the factory when it's sold - and we'll even eat the freight and setup costs we had to pay.

Sale runs now through closing 1/16/2008, inventory in stock only, must complete purchase by 1/16/2008 (later pickup is okay), must have a BARF username. We're not advertising this anywhere else - this is a test of BARF ads.

Why? January's always slow, so we're saying what the hey, let's see what an ad on BARF will get us. We figure, five or six deals at most? What's the worst that could happen? Prove us wrong and show up by the dozens.

This is your best opportunity right now to get the latest and greatest for the lowest price around.

PLEASE: Don't post or call asking for out-the-door prices. Come on in if you're serious, and we'll show you the math right there. Invoice plus $200 plus fees on '08s, invoice plus fees on '07 or older. It's OK to call asking if we have a particular model in stock, though. Make this work, and we might keep doing this every January.

SAMPLE PRICES

2008 Honda CBR600RR for $ 9,628.75 OUT THE DOOR.* 2 at this price.

2008 Suzuki DRZ400SM for $ 6,373.02 OUT THE DOOR.* 1 at this price.

2008 Honda XR650L for $ 6,266.34 OUT THE DOOR.* 3 at this price.

2008 Kawasaki KLR650 for $ 5,668.64 OUT THE DOOR.* 2 at this price.

2008 Suzuki Hayabusa for $ 11,591.10 OUT THE DOOR.* 2 at this price.

2007 Kawaski ZX-6R for $ 8,599.12 OUT THE DOOR.* 3 at this price.

2007 Suzuki GSXR750 for $ 9,485.44 OUT THE DOOR.* 4 at this price.

2007 Suzuki GSXR600 for $ 8,314.82 OUT THE DOOR.* 4 at this price.

2007 Suzuki GSXR1000 for $ 10,564.63 OUT THE DOOR.* 2 at this price.

2007 Honda CBR600RR for $ 9,103.16 OUT THE DOOR.* 2 at this price.

2007 Suzuki SV650S ABS for $ 6,965.33 OUT THE DOOR.* 2 at this price.

2007 Kawasaki EX650 for $ 6,203.85 OUT THE DOOR.* 2 at this price.

We have many more models, including dirtbikes - too many to list here.

* Price based on cash or finance purchase, Marin County resident 7.75% sales tax rate, buyers tax rate may differ, no other fees. Credit card purchase prices will be higher.

*****

What do we mean by "fees?"

1. Sales tax - based on your county of registration, 7.25 - 8.5%. 100% passed on to the county.

2. DMV registration - about 2% of the bike price, passed 100% to the DMV.

3. Tire recycling fee $3.50 100% passed to the state of CA.

4. $55 doc fee, which covers processing costs of the above plus finance paperwork if you need it.

5. Our freight and setup bare costs, probably $100 - $200 combined, depending on the size and complexity of the bike - CRF50, low, Goldwing, high. We have to pay the shipping company, and we have to pay the mechanic who set up the bike and made sure everything's how it's supposed to be. $200 maximum, which means we'll lose a little on the bigger bikes. But that's our problem.

And that's it.

The $200 we're adding as "profit" on '08s covers rent, insurance, flooring interest, advertising, utilities, payroll, gas, bookkeeping and everything else. On the older models we'll make nothing, but it clears up a spot on the showroom floor.

Check out the two prior threads above - you'll see a lot of happy BARFers who got the lowest prices in California on the newest and greatest. Or you can wait 'til next January... if we do it again...

why do you have the zx6r 2007 listed at $8299 OTD on your website and $8599.12 as special barfer price??

From your site
"Brand new 2007 Kawasaki ZX-6R. MSRP $8,999.... Now $8,299 OTD!!!! This price includes all fees!!! Based on Marin County tax rate, limited to current inventory. MUST mention this ad to get this price. We accept cash, cashiers checks, or financing. Credit cards are welcome but slightly higher. "

A fair question - this sale is based on a blanket discount, a formula that applies to ALL bikes in inventory. We plugged all the invoice prices into the formula, and that's what's listed above.

But a few specific models do have manufacturer rebates or invoice reductions or whatever, that let us go below the sale formula price. Our Sales Manager monitors those rebates and sets the specific model prices on our website.

So ask for either the BARF-only price or our rock-bottom price for the particular model you want, whichever is less. Click the link on our signature below and check the Specials for our, well, Special Deals.

In case you tried to call us today - We were hit pretty hard by today's storm, like most of Marin, and our power and phones were out at various times for half the day. Tomorrow should be better.

Whats left of the inventory? Any k7 600s left? If so what colors? Anyway you guys can extend this deal to the weekend? Buddy wants a bike but won't be able to make it until the weekend and I barely saw this ad today.

Per your requests, and because the first weekend was rained out, we're extending the sale through 1/19/2008, 5pm. We meant for it to cover two weekends anyway, and the power outages and flooding the first couple days kept a few people from coming in.

So call us at 415-924-0327 or come on in, for just a few extra days. Or wait until January 2009...

I debated forever whether or not I should take advantage of this deal since I got my M1 last Friday. My brother convinced me to at least go down there and check out the DRZ in person, so I did and I gotta say it was great decision. I ended up getting an 08 DRZ400SM for a GREAT price (listed above), the whole process was fast and easy. Bump because the sale ends tomorrow... :ride

I took my friend over to buy an 07 GSXR750 today. Unfortunately his credit union didn't give him the "blank" check so we weren't able to take it home today. I'd have considered on too but my Daytona 675 hasn't sold yet.

Were you there toward the end of the day, buying a red/white? My sons and (buying) friend were upstairs in Parts watching someone almost drop that bike as it warmed up while (presumably) the owner was inside suiting up or finishing paperwork or ??? We were like :wtf

Yea that was us. The guy that almost dropped the bike was actually the new owner of the bike. He used to ride and went on "vacation" for 5 years and was kind of nervous. LOL

I won't officially speak for them, but based on my face-to-face conversation with them, they are -motivated- to move those 07's that are left. If you like the deal they had going, it is WELL worth your time to go over and pursue one of the 07's. I don't think you'd come away unhappy.

Yea we all are. The bike has been parked in my garage since the day he bought it. He has been riding my girlfriends 250 to get comfortable again before he jumps on the gixxer.
