I'm parting with my Kawasaki Ninja 9R due to financial reasons. Unfortunately my house is for sale and so is my bike to help me with my bills. I'll describe the bike with all the quirks so you get all the pros and cons that I know of. If you have any other questions, email me by replying to this ad and I'll be glad to answer any questions about the bike to the best of my ability. I can also email additional pics upon request. Email me the specific parts you want to see. Test Rides are cool for fellow BARFers. Just reply to this message to check it out.
Make: Kawasaki
Model: Ninja 9R
Displacement: 900cc
Year: 1996
Mileage: currently 34.1K but will increase as I commute to work.
Year bought: 2006
Color: Green / White
Owner: I'm fourth owner I think
Downed: Not by me but very possible due to scuff marks on the plastic.
Title: Clean / On-hand
Description:
Pros - Bike is currently running great is regularly ridden to commute from Hayward to Sunnyvale and vice versa. The motorcycle is very fast and has never left me stranded. I got the bike serviced in Fastline Cycles about a year ago in Fremont to flush and replace all the fluids, rejet, stop oil leaks and change the clutch kit. It's got an aftermarket Muzzy exhaust which sounds really solid.
Cons - Cosmetics leaves a lot to be desired as bike is old and plastic has some cracks. Lots of bumps and bruises, but I tried to lower my price as best as I could to hopefully compensate for it. Tank has small dent, and fairing has some scratches. Gas gauge not working. Previous owner removed rear fender to make the bike look more sporty, removing the turn signal lights in the process. Bike still has a minor leak even though I had Fastline repair it but I've used it for more than a year now and check oil regularly. I have never had to re-top the oil except for the scheduled oil changes. Bike engine does blow hot air on my legs when riding but Fastline Cycle says this is normal for a big bike as old as this one. Rear tire probably needs replacing soon. I had an issue with starting the bike a few months ago when I did not use it for about 2 weeks. I use it regularly during the week (unless it rains) and it currently starts no problem on the first click.
I've listed everything I can remember about the bike and will gladly answer any questions. Test drive this thing and you will definitely like it. I will let it go at $1850 since you would probably want it serviced for the leaks and probably a new tire. Email me to schedule a test ride in Hayward, or Sunnyvale (if i ride it to work).
