Hello.
I’m trying to find a good dirt bike preferable "250" 2 stroke, I may consider 4 stroke "450" not older than 01(GREEN STICKER), and of course low hours not beat-up, something reasonable that not going to make me spend extra money after the purchase, so anyone, someone? Am I dream or what?

Ps: I think I’m getting old, I find myself so picky sometimes. :rofl

I have an 01 KDX220 for sale on these here forums. $2000 is what I am asking and it is a great bike. If I didn't already have 4 bikes in the garage I would keep this, but I am looking to buy another so it has to go. Research the KDX, you will find that a lot of people love it. It easily keeps up with the modern 4 strokes, and is a bit easier to ride. IMO.

Thanks, it's always good to include pictures, since KDX is not my first choice, there's always a chance to consider it. Thanks

What is your first choice? KTM 300? That would be a good 2 stroke. You said you want green sticker, do you plan to ride trail/woods, desert, track...?

Yes, I do, matter of fact I prefer trail better than tracks, but I’ll do at all, my first choice would be Honda, even if I have a Suzuki, I’ll always be a Honda guy.

If I were buying a dirt bike again, I'd probably go for a 2002 YZ250F. Those bikes are pretty awesome. I like my KTM, but I also really appreciate smaller & lighter. Those bikes are awesome. I've heard that the newer ones are even better, but they're not green sticker.

If you're looking for a 250 2 stroke, there are lots of great choices, and almost everything 98 & up is going to be well more bike than a new dirt rider can appreciate. Also... before you get too set on brand, consider that all of the 250 2-strokes tend to have different characteristics. If I recall, the KXs are a little more torquey at the expense of some top end. The Hondas (at least the last 250 2stroke I rode) was a pretty peaky bike. Lot's of hit on the top end. Of course I haven't really ridden one of the 2 strokes for about 3-4 years.

Also, it you;re not dead-set on a MX bike, there are lot's of good trail bikes around too. TTRs, XRs, DRZ, and so on. Trail bikes tend to be a little less maintenance intensive.
