Zoran that is the orange/red-resistor-black/white is this correct?
yes, just dont cut black/white.splice in to it.

Zoran the orange/red goes through the green plug has the resistor and connects to black white and goes back out through the green plug. those are the only wires I need for the green plug right?
f%&^* novices :)
go to CDI box.find red/orange wire.cut it about 3 inch away from cdi box.solder one end of resistor to it.now look at rest of wires coming out of cdi.there is black/white wire.about 4 inches away from cdi strip insulation and tie other end of resistor to it.
now wrap everything together so resistor does not flap around and make sure you dont bend it to much around there.

just have to solder, tape, wrap and install. it works
next time use stock connector between harness and kill switch.that way you can just plug in new switch if needed.

Yeah that is a good idea this one was cut out before I got the bike. I have to see if I can get it from suzuki with connectors

So what does "total loss system" do for your bike besides clean up the wiring system. I'm setting up my 05 sv for the spring season.

forget about your bike, this is for first gen sv only.low tech carburetor bikes :teeth
LOL!! That's an awesome schematic Zoran! Classic.

Does this diagram apply to non-total loss systems, too?
this is non-total loss.
you take regulator and stater out and it is total loss.

Is the resistor at the cdi box additional to the resistor in the front?
On my bike I used a resistor just in the front instead of the ignition lock because of the lack of a key,
I now use a 750 srad ignition lock which seems to work but the bike starts good but runs like crab over 5K, a full system is the only other thing I changed and it`s not rejetted yet, could that be that the lock aren`t interchangeable?
Thank You

I beg to differ. You are going to lose every time with that schematic. No place to plug in the motor! :p

no,it replaces the one in ignition.we do it by CDI box,no need to run wire all the way to front and back.
srad lock should be same.easy to check, take it off and try without it bypassing wires.

just stick finger in plug cap and hit starter button :)
here is better edition :)

Hmm, is that the diagram you used when re-installing your motor?
