guys, this is a new section for the SoCal peeps to hook up, plan rides and socialize, let's please let them and not have us norcal peeps chit chat too much.

Maybe we need a Transplantee topic. :teeth

Just saying Hi. Thanks for making the new section Budman :thumbup

I've been down here in Manhattan Beach for almost 5 years now. I started riding when I was up in the Bay Area back in... something like 2001'ish, thus the stupidily inaccurate username :laughing

I don't do any street riding anymore, just racing (mostly at Willow Springs/WSMC), but I do have a street legal FZR400 I just need to get running again and then maybe I'll start braving the crazy LA streets again. I used to ride Mullholland Highway a lot when I first moved down here.

I'll set up a group ride from the Bay down to So Cal, hit up The Rock Shop and Mulholland. My Lady is Upper managment in www.678dine.com so after riding we can party like rockstars. I'll post the ride when the weather gets epic

i didnt say riding wasnt possible, no matter if uve got an engine or not. i ended up visiting a friend last weekend in Santa Monica and of course was stuck in the rain driving back to watch the Superbowl, just misearbly cold for 2hrs. maybe im just getting wet on weekends.... and hopefully its dry on Friday for Racelegal at Qualcomm

We are down there 10 times a year does that count?

Look at my coffin, and do not weep, I am not there. I go in to deep. I am late braking, into the turn. I am dragging an elbow off of the berm. I am pinning the throttle, I have it wide open, I am sliding, and pushing until lap times are broken. When you awake from the dream of my race, I’m the one on the grid you will have to face. Look at my coffin and smile at my face, I am not there, cause I just took first place.
RIP one and all.

I'm from LBC, now up in SF, I'm riding the duc all 500 miles down to socal for my vacation. Where are bike nights? What are the good roads, I've only been riding a year and don't know too much about the socal scene.

This is what the scene is all about. Get one, or expect to get your ass kicked :rofl

LA is like a 365 day a year asshole convention, so it should come as no surprise to hear that the place has no shortage of assholes on 2-wheels. There are plenty of good people riding too, find those people and avoid the squids. Mulholland Highway has tons of fun roads in the Malibu/PCH area. Neptune's Net on PCH at the LA/Ventura county lines is a cool biker place to stop and grab lunch after riding through the canyons. And of course the Rock Store is an icon of the SoCal biker scene, but from what I've heard it is too popular now and is the focus of a lot of police attention.

Check out http://www.socal-sportbikes.com/xmb/index.php There are a lot of cool riders on that forum.

Here is a direct link to the Bike Night section. That's not really my cup of tea, so I can't comment from personal experience.

500 miles puts you in San Diego (510 miles from Alameda to San Diego, made the trip many, many, many times). If you are going to be that far south I can point you to some good roads.
