Got it. Not sure if you already posted the request in the Trackdays forum, but you might get a few more responses if you posted it there as well. With the cost of gas as high as it is, there's a good chance someone will be happy to split expenses.

quote from the AFM website:

http://www.afmracing.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=22&Itemid=40

"The NRS is a one-day class that will be offered through AFM or AFM designated NRS class providers. You use your own race-prepared motorcycle and all your own racing gear. If you pass the NRS, you may begin racing the next day. AFM-approved providers are: Pacific Track Time (530-223-0622), Keigwins @The Track (650-969-5609) or Zoom Zoom Track Days (888-929-9666); please check with AFM or one of these companies for specific dates & details. Currently, AFM doesn't plan on holding the AFM Race Schools at the AFM weekends, so please sign up with one of the AFM-approved NRS providers."

The Track club is not an approved AFM NRS according to the AFM web site. I also asked a board member and he said he was not aware of them being approved.

its NRS for AFM. theTrackClub is sponsoringOOPS ... I think you may have been tripped up by semantics here Josh.

"The Track Club" does offer a special optional program at their trackday events, that is called a "New Riders School". The key word in an "NRS" reference, is the middle word ...... "Riders". This program is targeted at very new to the trackday experience riders, that are looking for enhanced instruction on and off track to learn the basics.

The schools that the AFM has farmed out from their own events, to several trackday providers, is also commonly referred to as "NRS". The difference being the middle word, which in this case of the officially sanctioned AFM race qualification training, stands for "Racer".

So unless something has really changed, I don't believe you've yet set yourself up for meeting the "NRS" training that the AFM is going to require prior to you racing with them in 2008. I'd suggest you check into what I've posted above, to see if I'm blowing smoke ...... or you need to get on a different path for getting AFM race qualified.

AFM NRS with Track Club? Sorry, you got bad info. We already have three major trackday providers doing the AFM New Racer School and there are plenty of dates available, so there was no need or interest in adding one more provider. Look at the schedules for ZoomZoom, Pacific Tracktime and Keigwins for available dates.

Naturally you're right Alex, as "NRS" doesn't always = "NRS" ........ as the previous post hopefully clarified. :ride

Here is a question for you. Does NRS mean "New Racer School" or "New Rider School"?

I know that the Trackclub is WERA "New Racer School" approved. They do offer a New Rider School w/ Glenn Henry and Matt Buck but now New Racer School.

It sounds like some wires got crossed in the communication there.
