Yo.

So do you need to title the 50? If I get one, used, can I just not register it? Whats the green sticker? If I want to take it to some dirt, I need it?
Im bout to get one used off a private seller, I'd like to know about some of this first.

I dont have shit for my other mini, just a bill of sale.
Should I title the 50 if I can avoid it? Any of you guys got no title or registration?

sorta' goes hand in hand with your registration but more importantly restricts where and when you can ride off road.

green is good (year round riding).
red is restricted.

check out this thread (http://www.bayarearidersforum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19300) from Dirty Barfing.

I think the green vs red sticker has to do with bike's emissions. Green is clear for year-round off-road parks while red are restricted to many. Also, only Green is clean and can be street legalized while red sticker bikes are not allowed. When you purchased new bike, the dealer automatically registered the 50 a Green with DMV. Should get a renewal in the mail in 2 yrs. Used bike owners probably need to register with DMV to renew the Green sticker once it expires.

Your sticker (no matter the color) is your proof of registration, just like the stickers on your car. If you get caught ANYWHERE without it, they can ticket you and/or impound the vehicle.

Colors only regulate what times of the year you can ride in certain STATE OHV parks.

Like Rok said, it's only $11 a year?

Also, If the bike ever got stolen from your apartment or truck, your title/reg would be your only record that could help you get it back.

OK, say I want to make sure I get the green sitcker with the bike. So even if I am rolling out in a parking lot, the bike has to have a sticker or be registered? Or does it only matter if you are on a public road?

get a green sticker or if its used and for some reason doesnt haver it, get title and goto dmv for sticker. i dont think a cop would care to check but if he did would be good to have sticker as proof of reg. i think :infrandom

I think it's only public roads.

But think of it this way.

Do you really want to have to argue that point with a cop??

OK, so it seems like the best thing to do is have the green sticker, and thus have it registered. so, that is what I will do. It just that buying it used and all that, I dont know what to expect and what is needed...now I do.

Umm, if you're caught riding the fiddy on a public road, I think the damn green sticker is the least of your worries. The bike has no lights and no turn signals. It's not street legal. :teeth

i wonder...you know how people ride those scooters with engines..some are pretty damn loud....anyways, whats the difference between those and the 50? I see people flying around on those all the time, why can we roll our fifities on the side of the road like they do? :confused

I been riding mine on the bike lane the several blocks I need to cover to get to the parking lots, passed a cop once or twice, they didnt seem to care. Most of the time people just laugh at me on the tiny bike.

So, if I bought my 50 from HoM, new. I should have a green sticker, somewhere, right?
