The email I got from the AFM License Committee said they will mail the Rulebook/License packet approximately February 15th.

Let's list all the rule changes one at a time. It's February after all, what else is there to do? :laughing
1. For '08, even K&N oil filters with the welded-on nut require a hose clamp wired to a bolt on the bike.

Because even though the thing is idiot proof there are still those that are capable of going above and beyond the realm of stupidity.:|

Well they're tightening up (no pun intended) the safety wire rules, so that the wire is actually contributing to your safety. Hence the clips on the wheels and calipers and stuff being illegal now. I guess people weren't using the drilled filters properly.. yes I know that doesn't explain why they can't be used properly and be legal, but that was the intention I guess.

No more R-clips on the caliper bolts, you gotta use wire and snip/rewire after each wheel install.
Here's the synopsis from awhile back:

So if I'm reading this right we can't use any R-clips on the pinch bolts, axels, and caliper bolts. What about the rear axel where the clip goes through the nut and axel just like a cotter pin?

I think it has to be safety wired shut so that it cannot slide out

Cotter pin through axle is still okay I think...

While safety wiring is a real PITA, I can tell you that the previous owner of my bike safety wired every hose clamp incorrectly. I was able to loosen and remove all of the hose clamps with the wire still on. :wtf

Was the crash rule in color? That would make it all better, I think.
