Berkeley is not to much of a motorcycle friendly city in a lot of areas. I know my way around downtown SF and the embarcadero. As far as where to ride, you got me on that one.

Ideas for city places with photo ops:

Sutro tower up on twin peaks,
down by the bay bridge and pier area,
right across the GG bridge up to the marin headlands over looking the GG bridge (5$ bridge toll to get back to teh city if you don't like running the tolls,
maybe a shot with all the riders riding down Lombard st.,
coit tower (barely any parking though...),
parade down market st and take up all the lanes while everyone does a 12 oclock wheelie :thumbup ...j/k,
lastly ocean beach.............EDIT: forgot the presidio and GG park.

As far as places to go and eat/drink, with that many bikes that I saw at the last meet, we're going to have to park on the SIDEWALK!...... seriously......... :twofinger

Also to early for me. I think that will be the consensus. I like both ideas of the pics and ride. Since it'll be a couple different groups heading over there, we take pics of each small group and then when we all get together in the city, take one big ass group photo.

Im with SF FIRE and I can tell you that you will not be allowed to park on the sidewalk. I know.... sh**tty but they cops wont put up with it. I know The City well and I would recommend lunch in North Beach as there is decent MC parking. And when a car pulls out you guys can grab that spot and fill it with bikes.

Lots of places to cruise in SF but definitely keep the speeds down. Lake Merced has some parking lots too. Another recommendation would be to hang at Ocean Beach or maybe lunch at the Beach Chalet. Lots of parking and excellant food.

If you ride on a Sunday the traffic will be minimal. Start early and get in coffee and food in North Beach at www.caffetrieste.com/pages/racing.html Cafe Trieste. Or anothert favorite with MC parking in front is Cafe Greco www.caffegreco.com/

Sunday is nice to be in North Bech. People are kinda chill and you dont have a bunch of MUNI buses flying down Columbus St.

Then after North Beach you can ride through the Marina District and check out the gals in yoga pants sipping on Jambas. Then into the Presidio via Doyle Drive and exit to the Richmond Dist. From there you ride to Geary Blvd and "Go West my sons" until you hit the ocean. This would be Ocean Beach. Lots of parking and a killer sea wall to hang out on and bullshit about all kinds of shit.

If you want to go to another hangout in the area you just cruise on over to the www.javabeachcafe.com/ This is a quiet neighborhood spot where surfer meets techy. Good cofee and fine coffee baristas. Always friendly and quick with a smile.

After that you get back on the Great Highway southbound to Skyline Drive, Hwy 35. Yes! I said Hwy 35. You can follow it to Alices or you can opt for additional SF fun.

I can give you a few more killer tours if you like and you can decide what you want to do. As mentioned, I know SF very very well. But I am on duty at the firehouse on the 9the so I cannot join you.

The Marina shouldnt be crowded at all. Usually on the weekends there are some dudes playing soccer. But for the most part you will find some joggers and "hot" mamas pushing their babies along in $500 stollers. You know... something like what we do. Show off our bikes. :teeth

It is still early in the year that there wont be any big races or events happening. Not much to do there but it can be a stopping point to regroup for the next stage of the cruise.

I am available on the 16th or March and the 22nd. But dont go by my schedule. I will set up some cruises and post them. You can then pick what you want to do.

I think that Ocean Beach would be a good spot to start the ride. Lots of parking and we wouldnt be pissing anyone off too early in the day. Then from there we would take a ride to North Beach for coffee etc.

We have Union Square, Nob Hill, Fishermans Wharf, The Embarcadero, SOMA, Potero Hill... the Mission for the best burritos and beer!

How does the San Francisco "Three Tunnel" Tour sound? Yes, SF had three tunnels and wel will hit them all in 1st gear at 10k RPM. Or 2k RPM if you ride a V-Twin.:ride

Hello... sorry for the delay and inactivity. I have been working alot at the firehouse. I work 120 hours out of 144 hours. Yeah... thats alot.

As for leading the ride. I would love to but I work on the 9th and get off duty on the 10th at 8am. I wish I could lead you foilks through the City but I just cant get off that day. Sorry.

But I will say that the Marina Greens is a good place to meet up in the morning. Then you all can cruise over to Chestnut and check out the yoga gals walking around as you get a coffee at Peets or *$'s. Or Noahs Bagels down the block. Actually, there is a new cafe with alot of outside seating at the corner of Scott and Chestnut. Excellant pastries and coffee. Great seating and parking should be okay.

From there you can take Divisidero over the hill to Broadway. Follow Broadway under the tunnel and it will lead to North Beach, Columbus Ave. YOu can hang out... go to the MC friendly Cafe Trieste on Vallejo and Grant which is right off of Columbus.

From there you can go to the Stockton Tunnel and cruise Union Square. Park the bike temporarily in front of the Louis Vuitton store and take pics. Or... whatever.

YOu are just a short ride to downtowns Financial District. Cruise up Market Street in first gear the whole way and hear the sound of your exhaust system echo off of the skyscrapers. Its almost lunch and you can ride to the Mission for some fine Mexican cuisine. Many places to choose from. Or grab a brew at the FAMOUS ZEITGIEST MOTORCYCLE AND BIKER BAR! The best f**ken bar scene at night for bikers and messengers and cool chicks.

have you tried push starting or charging the battery? sometimes if the bike sits too long without a start, the battery will drain...hopefully thats the problem....
