To Officer F, of the local CHP,
I don't know if you will get this. Your last name starts with F and ends with L...maybe a buddy will pass this along. I could describe you but you all kind of look the same, although you didn't have a mustache.
I wanted to let you know that I appreciated the way you diffused the situation with the guy in the minivan riding my two wheeled ass near the 6th Street exit in SF. You, me, and the Minivan followed your command to meet in the parking lot of the SF-CHP and you not only kept Mr. Minivan from trying to kick my ass in the parking lot after nearly running me off the road and then trying to run me over. I am glad you saw him inches away from my rear wheel.
And yes, I shouldn't have slowed down in front of him to turn my head around and to see what type of asshole was going to end my life. And yes, as you said, those of us on sport bikes do ride aggressively at times. We have to at times, people willingly do try to spook us or hit us.
In the last year I have gone to traffic court twice for petty CHP pullovers and ever time in court I walked away innocent...I just lost sleep and time out of my life. And I was becoming a little, um, hateful of the CHP, but you kept your cool, you didn't talk to me like I had some severe learning difficulty, you didn't raise your voice, and you asked me what I wanted to do about the guy riding my ass. I have never ever had a CHP ask me what I think about what just happened.
I appreciated it.
