The other night I was driving down Mission Blvd on Hayward battling traffic to get from point A to point B. I noticed that the Honda Civic in front of me had some strange attachment to their license plate. When traffic was halted by a red light I realized that the mod was in-fact cellophane wrapped around the plate several times. It was difficult to read the plate numbers, in actuality I recall that I couldn't due to my headlight glare against the cellophane.

If I had been an LEO I would have surely lit him up, would there have been enough probable cause on this one?

5201(f)(2) CVC:

The installation of a license plate security cover is not a violation of this subdivision if the device does not obstruct or impair the recognition of the license plate information, including, but not limited to, the issuing state, license plate number, and registration tabs, and the cover is limited to the area directly over the top of the registration tabs. No portion of a license plate security cover shall rest over the license plate number.

Perfectly legal as long as the driver has his/her head wrapped in aluminum foil.

According to section 5210 (f) (2g) CVC you are REQUIRED to have the matching shirt if you are making a fashion statement, while operating the vehicle.:thumbup
