ANTIOCH -- A 17-year-old Stockton boy with no driver's license led California Highway Patrol officers on a pursuit over the Antioch Bridge into the city Tuesday afternoon, striking five other vehicles before Antioch police arrested him.

Antioch police acting on a citizen's tip found and arrested the boy on suspicion of felony evading. Officers found and seized a loaded semiautomatic handgun the boy had thrown down after the pursuit ended at Hillcrest Avenue and Deer Valley Road, said CHP spokesman Scott Yox.

One of two other occupants in the car ran and threw down another loaded semiautomatic handgun in a parking lot near a Rite Aid store at 3353 Deer Valley Road, Yox said. That man escaped. A woman in the car was questioned and released.

The pursuit began when a South Sacramento CHP officer tried to stop the boy for speeding in a red Pontiac Grand Prix on Highway 160, a few miles north of the bridge.

After crossing the bridge and entering Highway 4, the boy exited at Hillcrest Avenue. He sideswiped another car on the offramp, another at Hillcrest Avenue and East Tregallas Road and struck three more at Hillcrest Avenue and Deer Valley Road, Yox said. A fourth vehicle there was damaged by debris.

I think experiences like this are the first time many of these kids have ever experienced life altering consequences.

We used to be able to stone them, Damnit. But, I guess no one believes in the bible anymore.

Ife altering maybe, but kids like these dont just one day get a gund and drive around. They have probably been in trouble in school many times, or got involved in drugs. They know right from wrong, they just haven't been smacked enough to realize that its not ok to choose wrong. Man even I got a good smack for lying when I was a kid, the dumb kids now get a stern talking to or arrested. They need a good ole fashion community beating.

"A 17-year-old Stockton boy......"

He wants to act like an adult by driving like a tard and carrying a loaded weapon, then he should be treated like an adult. That aint no "boy" or "kid" that is straight criminal.

+1

Seriously though, kids need to start getting whooped again. Not just a slap on the wrist but a good hard beating. Maybe boot camp at a young age or something. I can't believe some of the stuff I see kids doing now a days. I feared coming home with a bad report card, couldn't imagine what would have happened if I came home for possession with a letter saying I had a court date...oh yes I do. :rip :wow

until we start shooting these dumbass' with a .10 cent bullet instead of throwing them in jail for thousands of DOLLARS a year we will continue having the same results. our system is failing and i fear for the future of my kids and myself.

Average 3 hours of TV a day. It seriously fucks up kids brains, everything from desensitization (is that a word?) to inability to self regulate impulse amongst other things. My2c
