Just out of curiosity? are these RS125 full sized bikes?? I see them all the time and was wondering how they compare size-wise to say a YSR or an R6??
curious.

They are the same size as a GPR50/ RS50.

They are about the size of an 85cc dirt bike. They are much lighter than an R6. They only weigh about 160 pounds. And they handle alot better than a street bike.
All in all, much bigger than a YSR and Much smaller than an R6 (the middle man!)

They are slightly longer than a YSR and almost the same height. They are WAAAY smaller than a R6. A 250 Ninja looks huge in comparison. The top of the windscreen/windshield is lower than the handlebars on my regularly sized mountain bike. My 1995 RS125 weighs in just under 170lbs fully fueled.

^^
who said anything about keeping a *useless for the street* RS125 motor in it???
i just want the bike, with a plate, motor or not. When *notice i say WHEN, not IF!!!* i get one, it will likely put a 2007 CRF150R motor in it....
so for those of us that do the math and keep up on things.... one day SpeedyCorky will have a NSR50 with an '07 CRF150R motor, and a RS125 w/ the same motor.... yummy

SpeedyCorky, here's an idea. I wouldn't do it myself ofcourse but...
I don't know if it will work in Cali, but here in florida the title does not state the model name (like YSR or NSR). Just the make , VIN, weight/hp ratio, cc's, crap like that. Also, if a bike has a florida title already and you just want to register it the DMV never sees the actual bike, you walk into you local tag agency with your title in hand and walk out with your tag.
So... If I WAS to want a registered RS125, I would seek out a bike that 99 percent of LEOs would not recognize too easily. Like a Honda NS50, only imported in 1990, not too expensive, and not too hard to find. It doesn't matter what shape it's in as long as the title is clean.
Then, I would restamp the RS125 frame with the VIN from the NS50. Cut the NS50 into little pieces, melt it, or use the frame for track only (I'm a little paranoid I guess). Than just walk into my local tag agency with the title from the NS50 and walk out with a tag for my RS125.
I have gotten stopped about 5 times with my YSR and not ONCE has the LEO even bothered to check for my VIN. But even if he did, in this THEORETICAL case, they would match.

Also, I've been told that the riding position on the RS is brutal for the street. And that it has a very wide turnig circle. I don't know if you care about those things or not but I normally ride a YSR and a buddy of mine has a Derbi GPR50 and I rode that thing and I hated the pain in my wrists. I never rode it again. I guess I am spoiled by the YSR's more relaxed riding position.

I could spend all day at the track on an RS. I am exhausted after a few hours of practice on the YSR.
You don't need comfort on a bike like that, not like you are going to be touring on it :laughing

I know, but here in Miami we have a shortage of tracks and a crap load of highways with nothing but straights http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/mad/mad0228.gif (http://www.email-blacklist.com). So sadly, I end up touring my YSR whether I want to or not.
