I gotta say, from the get-go, I was skeptical of Jon Favreau helming the director's chair. I love the guy, he's hilarious either as a lead or as a supporting role. But as a director? Not only that, but as an action director?
Then he started lining up a cast like Robert Downey Jr. (Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang) and Terence Howard (just overall suave), and that perked my interest. Then his trailers hit, and they hit the ball out of the park, just like the latest one that can be found here:

My anticipation for this movie is soon eclipsing how much I anticipated for Batman Begins. :thumbup

As a devout Avengers fan I'm fucking thrilled. Iron Man comes out in 2 months. The revamped Incredible Hulk comes out like a month after that. Next year is Thor (maybe 2010) and then the year after is Captain America. Rumor has it if all those pictures do well (I'm sure they will) They'll be putting them all together into an Avengers flick in like 2012.
:D So Happy. :nerd

That was another production that blind-sided me. Not only did it grab Louis Leterrier as the director (Transporter 2, Unleashed), but Edward Norton as Bruce Banner/Hulk, and then Tim Roth as the Abomination? They're talking about rebooting what Ang Lee did the last time, but with the kind of talent the put together, I say they just straight up said "fuck it" to what Ang Lee did, which is great. :teeth
I do love Jennifer Connelly, but Liv Tyler's not bad. :thumbup

It's just funny to me how there is NO MARKETING. Not even a trailer out and the movie is going to be released in like 3 months. I think they're trying to keep it quiet till after Iron Man is released.

Absolutely, but I can't say I'm worried. After the ill-advised direction Ang Lee went the last time (humanizing is fine, but it's fucking HULK!), I'm comfortable with Leterrier at the helm. His last few movies have been pretty dynamic for me, and Unleashed was actually a surprise because he brought some humanity in an otherwise action film that actually worked.
There's also something to be said about an actor like Norton deciding to tackle this project. I'm more inclined to think their production will work this time around.

Yeah Ed Norton just doesnt make bad movies. OF course the first Hulk waas so fuckin gawd awful bad that the bar has been lowered considerably.
The Iron Man trailer does look good.

i love that Robert Downey Jr. made a fat come back.
this movie should solidify it.
i don't look up to a lot of people but for such a talented guy to piss it all away then put himself back together again is admirable.
it's a lot harder after you've lost everything.
Good job Rob.

Well sometimes the "good" parts are shown on the trailer, but I guess we'll just have to see it.
