So what do you guys think of some negative rep points people give you?

Another form of "we pay your for salary" e-thuggery? Another form of negative animosity from the cant satisfy anyone liberal public?

I have recieved two bad marks. One for posting a picture of Ron Jeremy and a can of vaseline on a guys thread about receiving ticket for some insane speed, and another one because I said "If it walks like duck.."

Puhhleez. This is BARF remember. :devil

I've stopped looking. I appreciate those that leave good rep, and have done so in the past for others. I've left negative about 3 times, at least one of which immediately got me the same. Another came out of left field.

And a reminder to those who leave negative rep: Keep it in the boundaries of good taste and BARF TOS. If you are stupid enough to post a threat, the repercussions will be immediate and rather severe.

I get neg rep all the time. I don't sweat it. I'm not here for rep. I'm here to help bridge the divide between LEOs and the public. I think the LEO forum is one of the greatest assets to BARF and I'm proud to be a part of it. I know dealing with the law and getting straight answers can be difficult for someone outside LEO circles and if I can help a fellow motorcyclist.. maybe save them some headaches, or learn how to be a better citizen in the process, all the better.

If people don't understand my sense of humor or want to give me bad rep because I wear a badge or because I want to help others, it's fine with me. Knock yourself out! :thumbup

Ha! U just got + Rep from me for that post!
I point peeps to BARF all the time, and a lot of the time it's becasue of the LEO forum. TBH I find the attitude of some of the LEOs in some of the posts offensive and heavy handed, but thats just my opinion and I do appreciate your contribution.

FWIW, I am not a LEO, however, I do have some idea as to how difficult their job is in the real world, and, due to the nature of their work, their friends tend to be mostly (if not only) other LEO's. Therefore, I believe that for a LEO, normal contact with normal people is very limited. For the sake of better understanding how we can all get along better, here are a few of my observations:

LEO's get to meet the scum of the earth on a regular basis & this tends to make for a little cynicism.

They also get to see some of the most horrible, heart wrenching scenes imaginable.

Almost everybody they meet on the job lies right to their face & expects them to believe their lie (no officer, I have no idea why you pulled me over). When their lie doesn't get them out of a ticket, they say that the cop is just an a*hole who picked on them for no reason.

They also meet some of the most clueless people on earth on a daily basis.

They have to deal with our insane "Catch & Release" criminal justice system, and, the internal department politics that go along with it.

Finally, even the most seemingly nice people they meet, just might shoot them,

I didn't even realize BARF had rep points. Guess I don't post enough to pay attention. Either way, rep is high school crap.

I've never given neg rep points to any LEO on this forum. I don't agree with their opinions alot of the time, but I do think MM4L has a good point. That is, the LEO forum is a valuable asset on BARF and no other moto board that I am aware of has a LEO forum, and the LEO's that post here provide useful information and do help bridge the gap between riders and LE. And you gotta admit, for the most part, the mods are fairly tolerant about some of the posts on here :thumbup

and another one because I said "If it walks like duck.."

Thanks for reminding me, I meant to give you bad rep for being prejudiced, but read the rest of the posts and forgot to. Look for it soon.

I've quit giving negative rep to anyone, even those who truly deserve it. The last three times I did, the people who received it immediately tracked down my most recent post and gave me a negative for it as "repayment". I don't know if that's against the BARF terms of service or not, but I wasn't about to go cry about it.

I think the LEO postings here get most of the positive rep that I give. You guys often post valuable information here and I appreciate it.
