Can we use this thread to give advice on how to do any stunts on the fifty, or any ideas etc.

I kind of got stoppies down and leg over the bar stoppies. I can do burnouts, but no rolling ones or figure eight burnouts. Any advice on that? Are figure eights possible?

Wheelies, I do lean back and gas it, but I can only get them up for a few feet. Any secret to ridng them out longer, or just practice?

any other interesting tricks you guys do on the fifty?

Burnouts. = you will only be able to get good ones if you have the motor bored to at least 80cc. I recommend street tires. I can do burnouts and SOME rolling burnouts with stock motor/tire. My buddy has the 88cc kit with street tires, he's doing figure eights.

Wheelies == You HAVE to find the balance point to hold them longer. Get to the balance point and control it there with the back brake.

Stoppies == I don't know. :laughing Squeeze the brake and when you get up start to feather it.??

Right on BD. I tried hella rolling burnouts, but the front just skips in 1st and second has no juice to even move.

Wheelies is the hardest for me. I just got to practice more I suppose. I just watched the 2 50 videos sbf had on their website, they fucking rock on the xrs.

If you guys want to see some good fiddy stunnin', watch 50 Nuts. After watching that, I want one so bad that I'm thinking of trading the YSR...

P.S. there's good :boobies in there, too!!

I haven't done squat for stunts but face plant myself in the dirt 2x tonight :toothless also get like 2" off the ground every 1-2 shift it just happens w/o trying. do you guys trans always "CLACK" into 2nd? seems rough, maybe I hold revs too long then throttle off then shift then power back on then CLACK mini wheelie.

I need to start daytime somewhere trying B.P. wheelies.

I'm trying to lean back hard while accelerating in 2nd. The front only lifts less than a foot. It seems like I need to lean back pretty violently to really lift the front? I must not be leaning hard enough.

That is what mostly happens to me. But when I gas it harder, it comes up higher. So high I turn into a bitch and jump off the back and chase the fifty down the street.

I think we just got to gas it harder and keep the foot on the rear brake. If I lean too far off the back, i just flip over and land on my ass pretty hard.

you could use the kill switch too as an oh sh#t backup? but rear brake sounds best. my back can't take too many offs, maybe not even one if it's the most unfortunate angle or something.

my wrists are sore now too, got to get some braces? I dumped a couple times on a loose pack uphill, very deep car tire ruts made it difficult too but I went through no fences at least :toothless man, once the bars turn and you on the gas got to be able to straighten it out and not constantly overcorrect. and bike is so small standing on pegs difficult. but I'm still having a blast. everything seems wicked fast at night :teeth

So lean back really hard and gas it in 2nd simultaneously? What part of the RPM / powerband of 2nd gear is best to wheelie when starting to open throttle?

i've read a lot that highchair stoppies are easier than standard on the fifty. sit on the tank throw your legs over the bars and do it! beats me, i am gonna try it this weekend. havent fucked with burnouts and figure eights, they are more fun on the big bike :thumbup

preston is the king of the xr on barf right now, him and devon.
their advice to me on the fifty for wheelies is this; get in second, grab a handful of throttle, floor it, then pull it up and get on the rear brake. they said its all about riding beyond balance point. seems true.

plus lots of practice is a good thing :thumbup
i :love my fifty for stunnin. i bailed like thirty times last sunday and i'm all good. so is the bike. screw that fast fifties shift lever though, its hella soft. bent all to hell already.

Your mailbox is full...so here...

Damn... you've done a lot of stuff to that xr!! You're gonna want to take a look at the YSR probably... it runs good, but has no body work except for the stuff around the headlight. I have just about everything needed for a an aircooled 125 coversion... two aircooled yz125 motors (one is for parts), one aircooled yz100 motor, YSR pipe for the conversion, and sprockets... I think I have a carb in my box of parts, too. You can find bodywork on the internet for $200.

Now I'm no master at stuntin' anything but to get the front wheel way up on my stock 50 I just sit at the very end of the seat and in 2nd get it to just past where the clutch engages roll off just lean back (not too much) but just throw alittle upper body weight back and up she comes , way up ! I'm no heavy weight either I'm skinny and pale and it comes up easily. If that fails just don't roll off all the when you shift and she'll stand right up ! but I don't recommend that !

Not sure what you're describing. Are you talking about lifting the front during 1-2 shift? Are you saying to lift the shift lever while in 2nd so that the enging revs up and then lift the front?

jonb
03-26-2003, 10:55 PM
hes saying shift in to second gas it, right when the drive train picks up that slack and you feel it kick, thats when you pull. meaning when your ein second and you gas it there is that second or two of hesitation, right when that is gone pull.

just dont gas it to hard on the 1 into 2 shift, itll flip over super easy that way. i have looped the 50 many a time that way, till i learned to stop at least.

jonb

no shift do it all in 2nd :nerd

No, not between 1-2 , like we said you WILL flip IT ! I mean try it just like a big bike , cruz along in 2nd and just play with the throttle until you find where the clutch engages (you'll feel the front suspension extend when you get it right).Once you find the "sweet spot" practice revving just past that ,roll off briefly (so you load the forks, compress them) then get back on the gas and ,if you did it right you, should be in the "sweet spot".Practice that and when you start to get the hang of the roll off , roll on method the front will come up with ease . Word of advice though DO NOT yank back on the bars like a gorilla ,just sit way back on the seat and lean back gradually inceasing YOUR weight transfer until the front lifts up "comfortabley" .Once you get the hang of it you'll wonder what took so long ! Next problem is balance !!!
Good Luck !!!

Rich
P.S.~ cover the rear brake cuz if all else fails and you feel like you're goin over , tap it and you'll come back down to earth .

Thanks PTMan. I will try it. Funny you should say that, but actually I have been yanking the bar "like a gorilla."
