I was wondering if we, females, can have our own section on the BARF message board like The Sportbike Network's Women Riders section. It would be great to meet other women in the Bay Area who share my interests as female riders seem few and far in between. Please indicate it is not an area to pick-up chicks! Thank you! :)

I think it was decided that there was not enough of an interest at this time to warrent a womyn's forum at this time. This board is more about riding in the bay area rather than chopping people up into groups. We already have sections for general, group rides, squids etc... if we keep going eventualy there will be a section called "Gay men riders who live in Pacifica, ride Kawies and like to take their bikes out only on weekends after polishing every piece of plastic and metal on it so they can show off" forum. There will just be too many forums. And eventually you will get guys dropping in saying "Hey, what's your sign?" But check w/ SteveCo to be sure.

If you want to find womyn riders in the bay area start a thread in general or group rides. Just ask the men not to try and scam and only post if there is something useful. I think most of us will respect it. And for those who don't...

I think JTT hit on a few valid and good points - that we don't believe there is enough interest yet. Hwy9Hooligan had suggested this just a week ago and the main argument against is that it sucks to create a forum that remains unused, and then shut it down later.

If the interest becomes strong enough I think it's a very real possibility. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to rally the troops and convince us that it would be used, not just a derelict link that noone ever clicked. :teeth
