It's 90% there, but there's an electrical problem somewhere that's prevents the fuel pump from getting gas to the EFI system after it primes it when I turn it on. It's out of my hands and at a shop now - I'm hoping it all comes together soon!

That was a great crash. Too bad somone was asleep at the lens. Oh well, there were a couple of good frames. I'm guessing it wasn't Dito... maybe his assistant.

Someday we'll all have traction control, and crashes like that won't happen. Too bad, I like the challenge of not crashing. I don't want it to be too easy to go fast.

It was a great trackday, and kudos to PTT for getting us that 15 minutes back (the ambulance was late, so we took a 45 minute lunch).

I saw a fast guy crash going into 9 when he tried to pass 3 riders at once. He tucked the front and almost collected a couple of guys. But he didn't. Which was good.

It's funny how many riders I saw bypass T9. They get on the brakes a little late, then just say "screw it". I consider that a crash. And just plain lazy. Run a little wide... turn in late... something. But going straight is not an option. Not in my book anyway. Call me crazy.

I met a couple guys from MotorcycleUSA.com Nice guys. They were testing all the new 600's along with the Duc 848. Good looking bikes. I hear the new Yamaha is better than ever. And the new Suzuk motor has some extra grunt. All the bikes looked great, I'd take anyone of them.

I too have been continuously amazed by how many riders, and even AFM racers in practice, can be seen coming in hot to the Turn 9 chicane, get close to the turn-in point, and just seem to say "screw it, it's too much effort to get slowed down and make the turn", and bail out and go straight.

I'm like you on this one Dan. I have always tried to view not making that turn, and running straight though the access cut-out, "a crash". Kind of a personal challenge, to force me to not get sloppy and lazy in my riding, where in some other instance in the future, the option for bailing out may not be an option.

As such, despite having had a few occasions when trying to really late-brake another rider in a race, where I got right up to the brink of being tempted to bail out ..... I've been able to consistently resist giving in; instead doing "the work" to scrub off enough speed to not leave the main track.

Granted it was a pretty crappy execution of the turn, having to almost come to a stop before turning in, but in thinking of the turn as if there were hay bales, a hillside or other impact obstacle off the main pavement, it was still a successful "crash save".

Having "an out" for dangerous spots on the track is a good thing ....... but having riders regularly use such an "out", seems to result in the temptation for it to grow into a lack of respect for the corner and loss of the mindset to always stay on track. The bypass is not a normal and safe path, as it often has riders coming back onto the track again, after blowing the turn, crossing back into a hot track in an aggressive, "I don't want to let anyone get ahead of me" manner .... which isn't so cool (in my opinion, FWIW).

Ditto. Having been passed on the inside at T7 by two of the better AFM racers, and then seen both blow the corner, one raising his hand and straightlining off the track, I don't have too much respect for guys who don't have enough control of their bike to make a corner, and choose instead to endanger others.

Dood if I was you I would get that made into a hi res 10x10 poster-frame it and hang it on the front room wall. You have nothing left to accomplish in life you have got the pic /moment of a lifetime captured...I would tip Dito for that one..
