Is anyone interested in a road race? Everyday I ride the bay bridge. Everyday there are a bunch of guys on bike on the bridge all haulin ass. We all weave and kind of compete to smoke the most tuna cans (uh. . .i mean cars). I would love to race ont he road sometime. Aside from being superdangerous and stupid as well as illegal I think i would be fun. Anyone else?

doesnt sound like anything id like to do. especially with all the deaths lately as a reminder not to do stuff like that.

. . . not to mention all the stepped-up (negative) attention to motorcycles from the news, the popo and the public in general. You can count me out.

I think racing would be pretty fun, too! There are many factors to take in consideration, though: gear, bike maintenance, transportation to and from the track...
What's that you say? You meant on public roads?

Wasn't your first post on this site about how you were dragging all sorts of stuff stuff on skyline?

Good to see you all passed. Anyone that is dumb enough to race on the bay bridge deserve what they get. I Actually posted cuz I got hit by a bus:twofinger on the BB. I swerved into a gas truck on the other side, reached out and grabbed the truck to steady myself and prolly saved my life. Fuck AC transit and don't be stupid on the bridge (random stupidity everywhere else is ok).

Steve,
My first post was about the first time I have dragged ANYTHING. It happened to be in skyline. I was proud ;).

Sorry to hear about the spill - and yes, the first drag is an amazing feeling. I just watch for trends lately, what w/ twosmoke and others upsetting the friendly nature of the site lately. No harm, no foul, right?

what I'm waiting to see is when (if) bikes will be allowed in the Silver State or Pony Express events. This is a flat out, 100% legal "road race" held on public roads in Nevada. I think the top dog cage is still a 230+mph vette. and that's a 2-way avg.!
Schwantz already humiliated cars in the last test and the bike HP wars are all but declared moot. I guess Bonneville is last great bike vs. car testing ground? I'd love to do either on bike or car!

230mph Vette? Yikes... I don't think any bike will come close to that... maybe a 'busa given that its slightly more aerodynamic than most bikes. Sad fact of life that aerodynamics become increasingly and exponentially more important the farther past 170mph you go...
Turbo 'busa, anyone? :)
