As Rugby is commonly referred to as "elegant violence," "a hooligan's game played by gentleman" and a bunch of other names, I hear that you have to be a little nutty to play the game. So :barf should be a good place to check out :twofinger I started playing a few years ago and have been at scrum half the last couple seasons. Gotta love bay area rugby, Palo Alto 7's tourney going on every summer (starts this saturday) YEE!

Any other Barfers play, follow, or support rugby union?

Yeah, quite a few BARFers seem to have leather balls-- I'm surprised none have responded here! I played rugby (at second row) for a couple of years in college. Haven't actually watched it since, though. Get a few beers in me, and I remember dozens of verses to rugby songs that would make a sailor blush...

Repping Northern CA Rugby Football Union! I was an 8 man in college (played prop as well when needed to turn the scrum).

But after two reconstructive surgeries and the inability to breath out of the right side of my nose, I probably shouldn't play anymore :(

Sounds like my experience. Played the same position and some prop for a couple years in college. Ahhhh those songs :laughing Some of the funniest shit I've heard. Post game drink ups rocked, except for the new guys :Party

I played for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo during college.

Tight or Loose Head, where ever they needed me to get the job done... But I preferred Loose.

Couple ex-teammates play locally here, Diablo Gaels, Olympic Club then a couple more are Eagles and ex-Eagles...
