After spending many long hours I have come to the conclusion that Solaris is some subset of PURE EVIL! Trying to upgrade the version of sendmail that is installed on it. I disabled the pre-installed hack me please version which rapidly broke the entire system. Well I guess its time to format and reinstall...

IF solaris doesnt get to you... leave it up to the SPARC processor to crap out on you.
"Scott McNealy doesnt want your money" It was a banner covering the entire side of the Las Vegas Convention center parking garage back in like Comdex '99.
StarOffice ain't free no more, I guess Scotty changed his mind.

Although I truly despise solaris at this point, I wouldn't dare say I am desperate enough to go back to windows. I have many horror stories all beginning with "I had sticky notes all over my cubicle reminding me of the fact that the exchange server had decided to crap out that morning..."
Atleast when I get solaris working (thats a when not an if) I can trust it to continue to work faithfully until the piece of shit seagate hard drive decides to crap out.
:finger you Sun for choosing Seagate!!!

Well. I cant agree with you that Solaris sucks. I've run it on my machine since 2.5.1 and she's always behaved pretty well for me. I have to agree about the Seagate drives though! The most troublesome, WHINIEST drives I've ever run into. My 2.8 machine has been running for 2 whole months....Since one of my 64 meg DIMMS failed. Ah well. I could be running Linux. The second most hacked OS after Windows(I LIKE Linux, I just dont trust it!). Hope your mail system comes back up okay. Later!

(And for pity's sake, PLEASE dont go to MS's mail products. :)
Linux is only as secure as you want to make it, of course it's going to get hacked if some kid is running Redhat with all the services running...try debian, the stable branch of it rarely rarely ever has security updates, and take some time to learn how to secure a linux box....
