View Full Version : Feb 17 - "NinjaBlade Found a Job" Ride

In the spirit of 'theming' rides:
To celebrate NinjaBlade's good fortune (I'll let him share the juicy details w/ you) we will be having a congratulatory ride on Sunday, Feb 17. The ride will be at Alice's meeting at 9:00 for the "early" crowd... returning at 10:00 to pick up the stragglers.
I will raffle away a gift (how'd that go, anyway, JTT?) if we get more than half-a-dozen riders. If G-Monie doesn't take his vid cam back before then I'll do the tank-cam thing as well.
It looks as though we may get a few CBR Board riders to join us -- they're a great group of guys and I'd love to see the two groups hook up. Ken - try to get your 5150 crew to show up as well!

Yeh baby! I am in for a little grinding in the hood! Stevo, keep you bike in one piece this weekend, see you on the 17th. Will work on D butter to make sure he gets his lazy #$% out of bed and up the hill. Are we taking any newbies on the ride?
If so, I know a woman who just gratuated from a katana to a F2 that might want to join us. BUT, I would hate to scare her away with a fast ride, cuz I havent ridden her yet (was that PC?). :eek Never mind, probably just invite her out on different ride.
I'll bring my new virgin pucks :p

Anyone else kinda bored of Alices?? Maybe its me, cause I saw some new scenery on this last weekends ride. Maybe Steve isn't allowed to leave Santa Clara county........:D :D j/k I dunno.......just ignore me.

...and so it comes to be, yet again, summoned from the depths, that feeling of I'm-being-picked-on-again, and so utters theSteveCo the ubiquitous
HEY!
I've been out w/ OaklandF4i and his band of street hooligans, one you know as NinjaBlade, one as sad=man. They are of the same mindset as those of us here... "no one gets pushed to ride faster than they're comfortable, but inevitably some will rush out to scrape pegs and pucks".
All are welcome on our rides, we try to keep everyone together as much as possible and stop often to regroup.

Instance- Steve is right, we always have a pretty varied group of riders. Its more fun to stop now and then to brag about heroics and kick tires. Plus we seem to have lost more experienced riders to the asphalt gremlins this year than newbies. So we always need new blood. Go figure..
I'd be up for a Marin, or Mt Hamilton ride but I think we are trying to get some folks up from down San Jo way riding that day. With better weather comes more rides. I know all kinds of great rds, just need more time and the weather to coop.
For future reference, how do I get that barf thing going. I demand the opportunity to barf on some one!

i'll be working in the service shop tuesday through saturday 9:30-6:30. one of the mechanics is a track leader (he said he's gonna be at thunderhill on sunday teaching class b). his name is niles, and he should have vanson/scuderia west leathers on and an old gsxr w/o body work. he's pretty nutty so don't let him scare you off the track!!
theSteveCo

I'll be sure to wave as I pass him
Alice's on the 17th of Feb? We're there!! I'll let everyone know. (edited) I just spoke to the guys and 10am is a bit early for everyone..haha So i dont know if we can make it that day. If you guys plan on being there longer we might head up that way.
Niles is a cool guy. The Nov track day, he took the B group out a few laps to show us some lines.

Sunday the 17th at 9 or 10. Cool I'll or should I say we just might be able to make it. We as in me and the woman. We will be 2 up so will probably hold the group up but, I'll do my best.
Instance

MAG, dont even worry about holding up the group, as you have probably read in the past, ALL skill levels come out, and no one ever holds up anyone cause it's not a race. Its good to hear that you'll be out with the lady.

Sounds like we got a slow ass group. But the question is. Of that group, who is the slowest.

So the last one to touch their foot on the ground as we idle out of the Alice's parking lot loses?

Looks like we're gonna have a lot of people for the ride, but hopefully the weather holds out. Last forecast was for rain on saturday, that means wetty wetty at Alices....:( :(
Steve, is there a plan "B" if the higher elevation is gonna be still wet come sunday????
Port4mance
02-12-2002, 05:23 PM
How about Plan B is SQUID DAY! I'll be there Sunday if the weathers nice and if not I'll be out practicing my Nac Nac's and maybe try to throw a Can Can or two in there.

Looks like sundays gonna be ok. Sat calls for a chance of rain only and sunday looks cloudy. So SUNDAY IS ON!!!!!!! Port, you better bust some stand-ups when we're riding.

sorry to bum u guys out... but, from what i've heard, heavy rain expected on saturday. It will be dry on sunday, but definitely not safe to ride the twisties, I'd wait atleast a week before going up there. But, I think the rain's going to hold off till later in the day. So u guys could do an early morning saturday ride.

Hmmm... we'll see what happens. My Sportecs should provide decent grip, and considering that my bike is crunchy now...
If it looks like rain on Saturday, I might sneak up there on Friday. :D

Steve, can't make the 17th. It's my sons birthday, I got him an R1 for his 13th birthday....yeh right. The following week end is ysr racing so I can't make that. If you make plans for the 1st week end in march, that could work for me. Of coarse I'll be on the ninja. I need tires on the hawk cause I was sooo fast. oops wrong thread.

It's been suggested by an anonymous viewer (hint: he needs TP for his bunghole) that we avoid the wet riding in the SC foothills in favor of...
Meet at The Grove @ noon on Chesnut Street in SF, Ride 1 to Tm Junction and over the Mtn to Bolinas. Its all in the open on the ridge (no trees) and therefore should be dry. If not, we can be hooligans in Stinson Beach.

I'm up for riding anywhere. Its been a long winter and I am tired of scorching squids with carbon fiber stickers covering their chicken strips on Redwood. Rain, shine, I am up for a ride!

We'll see what happens w/ the rain... GRRR :mad
Every time Instance plans something it goes off w/o a hitch.
Jack the Tripper puts a ride together, no problem.
I, OTOH, schedule something and it always gets rained out! Everyone remember the doomed Thanksgiving ride???

I say we cancel it due to the lack of riders willing to risk the elements. I might join some of the guys from Scuderia with Ninja for an impropt ride early Sunday 9AM, weather - hangover permitting.

So whats the plan man:D I've seen Alices 1 week after a rain and it still was soaking wet. I don't do wet roads. I don't push my luck any more than I have to:D
Temp does not make much difference to me but wetness=bad. . . . . . on roads that is:sex

sorry, i don't have internet access at work.
hmmm, let's organize another alice's ride when the weather's better. there are some guys and gals that meet at scuderia at 8:30-9am then head to stinson beach. one guy has to be back at the shop at 1pm to work. sometimes the rest keep going, and other times it's just a morning ride. it's still up in the air though. i won't be able to check in again til tomorrow night. so if anyone has any questions, you can call me at the shop at 415-621-7223 and ask for Ron.

Man, we wouldnt mind getting some oakmeal and coffee at The Grove on Sunday. That would be nice!
Hey Ninja, are you the asian guy at service on friday. I was in the back talking the Mark, Mike and Dayve. You have the red, white, blk F4i, right? Next time I will introduce myself, I co-ordinate the trackdays!

Yeah...the ride is "officially off". Don't call me if your gonna hit Metcalf Rd. either. :twofinger I already don't like that road and only went 1/2 mile on it. :(
I think the rain is going to keep falling all weekend and on into Monday (which sux cuz I work Monday morning). So...looks like the 929 is staying dry under the carport for a few days. :(
