View Full Version : July 10th Track event.
Ed, we need to talk.. ive already gotten 11 deposits for this event. And theyre not even 5150 members. Theyre from Team Vu. Theyre a more mature crowd with lots of track experience at T-Hill so you will not have any trouble or reckless conduct from them. I guess ill be responsible for them as well as 5150. However with 11 deposits already, im expecting another 10 -15 from 5150 members ( the ones you know and are familar with, and a few that i can vouch for)...this might pose a problem for you. Let me know if i should start booting people and what the cut off is.

I guess Ken ownz B group for this event. You going to resell all those spots or what?? :twofinger
Any chance we can make this a "special event" and run two B groups?? I'm sure we can get 20 BARF riders to go if that were the case, and w/ all Ken's hookups (20-25) we can almost close the trackday out! :teeth :teeth

Hello everyone,
Thank you for all of the interest with our events. It has been a trying few weeks without internet access. We will be back up soon.
As for the trackday event July 10th we are in the works as far as what format we are running. It has been an idea in the works to run a novice day and making a special day for BARF and 5150. The interest in our events have been growing faster than we can really handle.
This would be in no way meant to sound offensive to any parties but after the last trackday I have taken time to overview what happened that day. My conclusion was this: too many beginners trying to make a name for themselves, lack of proper control on the part of the coordinator, too many people in general and the fact that half of the people I did not even know.
I plan to make this July 10th trackday for ONLY people on our mailer. IF the mailer does not get the numbers we need to run the event then we will have new riders. We will once again minimalize the groups to about 20 each. 40-42 people max. This time I am standing firm because of the last event.
Please, if you are not already on the mailer do not be offended for this is for saftey reasons. I would love to have the entire BARF gang come and join us and will try to make it happen. I would like to get a head count of people from BARF who would like to come to the July 10th.
Thank you for your time and hope to see everyone on the track.

Ed,
I don't know if I'm on the mailer or not, but I'd love to attend on July 10th. Like I've said before, I still had a wonderful time at the May 7th day, and I'm also glad to hear that you are continually improving your process of handling track days! :D

Kalamari... I believe you're on the mailer if you've attended an event before. Therefore, I think you're in. Then again, I don't get anything in the mail from Speedyard, so maybe you have to attend a couple times! :teeth
Wei7 (I always use screennames on public forums), I'll be happy to work w/ you any time to put together this "invitation only" event for BARF and 5150. Let me know what you'd need if/when the time comes. As for your "mailer only" event, allow me to show some rallying support for you... sign me up. :D
I still owe you for the tires, I'll put two checks in an envelope today (shame on me for waiting so long). When I actually MAIL that envelope, on the other hand....

Very sorry if some people are not on the mailer. I think for the most part people like Jim, Ravi, Steve, Gmann, Chicken, Darkie, Calimari and ofcourse Ken are invited.
This is not a prejudice issue but the only people that crashed out were people I never even met before or have even spoken to prior to the day of the event. We do have crashes and have been one of the statistics but not for being reckless and not for pushing beyond the human limits.
Please, if you are a BARF member and would like to attend (new or old members) please just mail us at trackday@speedyard.com and for the people who have joined us before please just have your payments sent in a timely manner.
Thank you again

Wei7, I don't know if it's possible, but if you could hold 2 spots for Chuci and his wife (RaKitty), that would be excellent. I know they'd love to go, especially since this is turning into a BARF event. I'm sure they'll be better able to drop you some cash and speak for their spots once they get back from their honeymoon. Thanks!
And Chuci...YOU OWE ME MAN! :twofinger
Hello everyone!
I think it is going to be quite a BARFie type day! We are becoming very full and payment (deposit or otherwise) should be sent asap. I do encourage people to read our site and just some key notes:
DO NOT plan to race, plan to learn
Go there with a clear head and not expecting to be fast
DO plan on learning the track and enjoying the day
ASK questions if you are unsure of yourself
Please do not provoke people to race or showoff your lap times (lap timers not recommended)
Plan on having a buddy system but not a group of people riding all together
Check your bike prior to going to the track and remember to bring your keys if you have them
Food and drinks are provided but ofcourse you can bring your own
I am writing this again only people many people do not understand that these events are meant to better your skills and to learn about what a track type event is. IT IS NOT A RACE DAY. You will not get a trophy for finishing first and killing someone else. Since it is a novice day I will be enforcing rules strictly. If someone rides over them limits and is unsafe I WILL pull you in and might even kick you out if warned more than once. I know it sounds harsh but very necessary to ensure riders safety.
We do thank everyone who has attended our events and for the support to keep these events ongoing. Also we thank you for all of the interest in our events. Hope to see many of you there on July 10th and please feel free to introduce yourself on June 15-16 at Buttonwillow if you are there. I will be on the #34 red ducati instructing B/C groups for ClubDesmo trackday. Thank you again and safe riding!
