haha... Wow you've been riding this whole time with just your permit and now you're doing tricks? props dude... Where are you taking your class at? I took my MFS course in newark just next to fremont and had a pretty cool instructor. He was like 62 and rode a 929 RR rain or shine from like Gilroy or somewhere near there to fremont almost every day. :eek

Hey I can't be the only one in BTB without my license. Maybe some one won't show up or will have (cough cough) an accident and I can fill there spot in the class. I think they only thing you could really get away with in the class is a nice sideways slide when they make you lock up the rear brake:twofinger

Man it is about time you get your licence, Port is way over due for his. I wish that I actually knew haow to ride before I took the class it would've been hella fun to accidently do a stoppie or fat rolling burnie.

If you really want to get it done, do what I did... and take the MSF in bum fuck egypt. In my case it was in Vasalia (sp?) about 150 miles away, but i figured two nights of hotels sure beat waiting 2-3 months to attend it.

Little Known Secret about MSF Course:

Take it at Travis Air Force Base. It isn't mentioned on 800-CC-RIDER, however, you can call them... and they will hook you up. Open to civilians and military. Just, can't bring your own bike. But, other than that, it IS the full MSF course.

i paid $187 and waited three months for my class. what you can do is get on stand by for a class or do what my friend did and show up to one of the classes to see if there are openings.... my buddy did that because he needed his license before his trial date(riding on freeway w/only permit). the class he went to had room and took him in. but no one asked him for a payment. the guy is there just to instruct not worry about payments. bastid got lucky and had his msf course for free.

this don't mean you'll get in the course for free but hey, beats waiting for months if you can get in...

Heres the key, as they are usually booked for months at time. They are very strict on being on time, show up early, tell them you want to be on the standby list, in case someone doesnt show, or is late. There will be a few that will be late, and you will get their spot.

This is what I did in San Jose. The class started at 6, I was there at 5:30, got in my seat early, talked to the instructor, as soon as 6:01 came, he closed and LOCKED the door, those who were late, were not let in.

fyi, when I took my MSF course a couple of years ago, even though I had been riding since I was 5 or 6, the instructor didn't seem to care. Not all of them have a sense of humor and can kick you out of the class if they want to. When you do take the class just grin and bear it...doing stoppies won't get you extra points. jmo.

Someone in my class ACCIDENTLY pulled a stoppie, she was tossed out of the class. The instructor didn't like what he saw, thought she did it on purpose....DAYUM! It was harsh, but it shows how much power they have.

Go to the office the day of with all the cash, tell them you want to join the class if someone doesn't show. If someone is late, you'll get in, they'll get kicked out...if your not there, they will usually wait a few minutes.
