One suggestion and one quibble:

For those who don't have auto-login enabled, it would be nice to have the login area right on the front page.

Now for the quibble. The "mission statement" goes on at some length about how it doesn't matter what you ride. That's good. But how come the field where we enter the bikes we ride in our profiles is called "Sportbikes"? Seems a little contradictory; sportbikes are only one subspecies of bike. This has always irked me. (Can you guess I don't ride a sportbike?) In fact, I very nearly decided not to become a BARF member because of it -- I figured people would look down on me for not following the one true way or something.

I hope you're joking! Much as I love Flash when it's done well, I'd rather not wait for it to load over my slow-ass connection, especially if it's there just for decoration.

ro-monster, the flash, if it happens, will most likely be one where u can "click here to skip" intro type of things. first time users can watch since it will be new :)

This site was a spin off of SBN (SportBikes.Net) That is the main reason it says sportbike. But the site name is BayAreaRidersForum which is not specific. (Heck, didn't we have a bicycalist sign up? :laughing) Anyway, I think we are mostly sportbike enthewsiests but in no way would we ever exclude cruiser or tour bike riders. They'll just have to put up with a constant barrage of jokes.:twofinger

As far as flash goes. "The main page design team" is looking into using flash in a resourceful manner. Bottom line is the entire thing would be no larger than 200k (less than a minute on 56k modem)And there is always a skip button
