I just stuck the thread fer ya -- perhaps we should post all the regular (weekly) meets so people know about them and find them more easily. That and a few maps to regular spots.

Parking should be ample, last time I remember there's a big parking lot across the street right?

it's called Java beach it's a coffee shop. stickers Sweet! I want to put some barf stickers on my car. I'm going to sope out the place on saturday and post pic's of it, plus give the lowdown on parking I haven't been there in years. There could be a building where the empty lot used to be for all I know.

So I should find out now, and save myself some criticism if need be: I have work and then class in Hayward until 6:00, so it might be a little tough to ride the bike, can I show up in a cage with a promise to carry away some dignity?????:rolleyes I will be getting a sticker for it if that helps:D :D

Hey Steve,
I just posted the even on the calendar (yeah, I use it!). Is there a way we can distinguish regular meets vs. just events? Like a highlight or something.
There are some folks that want to meet at Fantasia (I'm too short thread in general). I'd like to post details and propose a time/day, but we have sooo many meets that I don't want to post something conflicting.
To my knowledge, there are 2 regular dates (though 1 in SF is about to start).
Tues - your Starbux meet
Wed - SF meet

now we have to agree on a location on the car so we know a fellow BARFer when we pass them by. I've yet to get a fellow rider wave back at me when I'm in my cage. And I'm not putting a Arai sticker on my windshield! :D
P.S. I did see this gal (cute, I think) in a Cherokee with an Arai sticker in the back window. Was gonna wave, but she was on the fone so I took off fearing she'll hit me cuz of that distraction. :D

I wanna go to the first
SF BARF meet and buy me a sticker and meet all the people.
I also am a bit directionally challenged-
I will be coming from the beautiful town of
Pacifica-get out of work at @ 7:00ish. How
do I get from there to the meeting place?
Any guidance is truly appreciated.

I'd go north on 35 to the Great Highway and then continue north until you get to Lincoln. Turn right there and then make an immediate right onto La Playa.
I work in South City and also get out of work around 7:00. Let me know if you want me to meet you somewhere in Pacifica and ride up to SF with you.

Nice meeting everyone whose names I promptly forgot! (Well, ok, I didn't forget them all.)
And nice to see the Pacifica contingent; thanks for riding back with me.
Next time let's go somewhere with indoors to retreat to when that chilly wind starts up. Brrr . . . I thought it was supposed to be spring, dammit!

What a HUGE TURNOUT! Bikes just kept arriving in waves :teeth
It was totally unexpected to see Nomad rollin' up on his 6R! Like I said to all, when I was like 12 y.o. I rode pillion with these guys and they are the reason I got into bikes. hotrods too for that matter. (and now we meet again via barf!) they were the hell racers of the streets of SF back then @ the great & chinatown etc. things got hairy later but those were the seeds and I learn alot from them. we had one friend brian who we nicknamed later Chinese McGyver :p bikes, z cars, carts, scuba you name it. oh man did he have a badass '70 Nova SS!!! Jacked and candy blue with teardrops of course. ah the good ole days.
so Nomad - damn good seeing you again! and to all the barfers new and old - Nice to see you again as well!
I am so going to get my a## kicked for missing class. :p

"Max"-so good seeing you tonight. You have actaully been the most
consistent person who has been present at the BARF rides and
meetings that I have encountered.
Such a pleasure!!
You represent the old school and newbie experience in
a very welcoming manner. I appreciate your presence and
resonance.

SF meet was was an awesome turnout. Even after living for 18+ yrs in SF, the windchill still got to me. It was great seeing familiar faces and meet new peeps, who hopefully will turn to familiar faces also.
I knew we had a huge amount of BARFers in SF area. I'll definitely do my best to be a regular at these meets.
Yeah, I second the indoors thing for next week, but plz let it be a a place where we can keep a keen eye on our rides.

maybe I am 12 again (hmm, checks leap year calendar) and so happy to meet all these new friends on their shiny & not so shiny (calvin's bike :teeth) flyin' machines.
life just doesn't get any better than this.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR FRIENDSHIP :rose :rose :rose
"oops p.s."
Huge thanks to Steveco, Instance and all the mods for barf! William, if ya didn't see my barf sticker yet, the rider's doing a 11:30 stoppie in your image (and honor :p ).

well, thanks there partnur. I did turn down a ride with Bapistro yesterday (sorry Bap) so I can wash/clean my ride (yes, in the cold at ~7:30pm).
I did want to look at least (ahem) "presentable" in these meets, ya know. :D

Great meeting all y'all today. I didn't expect the turnout to be this big! We got to go to a bigger place next time and of course we're all inside sitting down sipping our hot cups of java or whatever :D

Hehe. Actually, I wonder how hard it is to revert to the stock map once I install the PC? If there is a switch somewhere that I can just flip off, I'll still be able to do it without much trouble. :D
Hmm. That makes me think - I might be able to mount a switch up front that bypasses the PCIII wiring when tripped. Then I could use the flamethrower on demand. The ultimate squid mod! :flame

This is "mrtnz" not "midas" coz I don't know how to log him off. Anyway....
IT WAS REALLY GREAT MEETING ALL OF YOU!!! That was fun! To think, I was thinking of not going coz it was BBRRR cold! You guys are so nice and friendly. You made me feel welcome.
WOW! There were so many people who attended! I can't remember all of the names! What a great turn out!
I am already looking forward to the next meet!
XOXO

Wow! What a fun meet-n-greet that was. It was great to see so many familiar faces as well as having the opportunity to put new faces with familiar screen-names. Seeing Pacifica be so well represented did me proud as well. :D
I'm definitely for locating someplace with later hours and a more commodious interior for our next meet. I hate to say it but, I've totally lost any resilliance to cold I may have had from living in the Midwest. <shiver>
"anywhere indoors is good. i'm down for a meet but i still really would like to hook-up a late night city cruise with 15 or 20 riders rather than just shootin it indoors somewhere. just rather be riding"

badbad, I did this thing with Kiltwearinfool where I actually
gave him a dollar bill and he in return gave me 2, yes 2 BARF
stickers so now I have 1 extra cuz i ain't got no car.
I will give you my extra if you convince him that he in fact owes
me $$$$.
Done w/smoke and some mirrors and some hyptonism and
really good bs.
