View Full Version : i wonder....
i wonder if having a stoppie contest is technically illegal? i mean, you're not speeding. and its not a wheelie..so what can they really bust you for? stopping too fast? hmmm....

It'd be wreckless driving, you technically dont have to be speeding while in a wheelie either.
Ken, you just wanna show your endo skills and put us amateurs to shame! :D :D

Well until Ken gets a bike we will have to compete without him:twofinger But one thing to think of is that most places we do stoppies at is industrial zones and the speed limit is usually 35mph so in order to do long ass stoppies you would have to speed first.

No way!! LOL! im not the one doing stoppies on the freeway at 90mph..and im not the one thats sitting over the front windscreen doing rolling endo's.. ( in actuality, im scared of endo's now that i looped one. *shrug*) But id like to see the resident endo king...and his cronies go at it. Ill even bring a tape measure. :D Lets put this together one day.

hmmm.
illegal assembly and wreckless driving come to mind. maybe even improper control of a motor vehicle, public endangerment or something? and don't have any minors present in the group let alone any trace of alcohol or controlled substance(s).
if the group doesn't pass the "attitude test" or the cops want to give you a really hard time, expect to be delayed for license and registration checks at the least, vehicle checks, maybe some equipment tickets along the way (unless no crunchy bikes present), etc. etc.
sometimes you can't even have a picnic w/o a permit.
not like I never been hassled by the man before or anything :twofinger

minor <= 17
you never know, cops can pull tickets out of their ass quicker than anything :) in my "the fast and furious" days i once got a ticket for public display of speed or whatever for revving too much at a light with another car next to me. cop was somewhere a few cars back he pulled me over a little down the road. :rolleyes :rolleyes :rolleyes
me from 2 inches off the ground in my car: "so its illegal for me to rev?" cop bent over and peering in: "it is when you're trying to street race someone" me: "say what?" bam! ticket!

2 Points and suspended license... Sucks when the ticket says speed contest!
I say roll up next to a 5.0 stuck in gridlock... Pull a nice wheelie right next to him in the emergency lane and see what happens next... :twofinger

isn't a wheelie ticket written as "Operating motorcycle on one wheel"? That's how it is in Jersey... if so.. they could get you with that...
just my $.02

Wheelie ticket here is either wreckless driving or exhibition of speed. I don't think CA has a vehicle code for Operating motorcycle on one wheel.
