View Full Version : New Memeber Introduction
Hi All,
I have lived in the bay area for the past 35 years. I started riding street bikes about 25 years ago. Yes I'm addicted. After all these years I still enjoy carving the twisties.
My latest bike is a ZR-7S. I purchased it new about 4 months ago. I now have 2,500 miles on it. I only ride it on our local mountains.
I sometimes miss NOT having a bike that can wheelie, but the ZR does just fine for getting that rush when going around a turn fast.
I do most of my riding by myself and miss the group rides I used to have when I was younger.
In an effort to meet other riders, I also started a forum called South Bay Riders. So that guys like myself could meet others who live in the area. I also did it because I'm a computer geek and wanted to learn how to set up a forum.
Steve I hope you don't mind me putting my forums link in the signature.
Thanks.
Andy

Hello, and :welcome Andy.
Although we spend the rainy months busting each other's chops, we are pretty hip on the group rides around here. We've got a pretty wide scope of people here and would love to have you along sometime. We organize socials and trackdays as well.
Dammit - yet another site I'm going to have to sign onto and check every day! :laughing :laughing
Nice choice of software - maybe you and I can talk about consolidation or some other mutually beneficial arrangement sometime?
Thanks Steve, I appreciate the warm welcome. :)

Andy... If you're interested in hacks for your site, let me know. I've incorporated a couple so far and will be pretty busy enhancing the site once it's up on the new server.
PS: Hacks are things like displaying the sportbike under the avatar, my "Today's Active Threads" link, etc. The software is more complex than simple PHP and MySQL I've discovered. :D

Hmm.... been riding for 25 years ha? Great! sombody my age:D
Up until last month I had retired from doing the twisties, but the guys and gals on B.A.R.F. sound like good people. I say sound because I have only really met 2 (Anon and steve without formal introduction). You won't see me out there every week-end, but I will make the occasional apearance
All I got to say is...
Let's do a track day:D :D
Hi Superhawk,
Thanks for the welcome. Looks like you are 2 years older than me. Being 40 something is not too bad. :)
Regarding a track day... I'm considering it. I did race my RD-350 at Ontario Speedway about 20 years ago.
I really enjoy riding on the weekdays because there is nobody on the mountain. Its fairly safe to go at a fast pace.

When the weather gets better, we can do a week day ride. I work graveyard, so i'm always free.
If you're free this week-end you should ride down to thunderhill and hang out with the club. It's going to be great riding weather

Andy's been around since the beginning. I think MRTNZ was just looking to revive an old thread to boost her post count. :twofinger
How's SBR been lately, Andy, and how's the Gix?
