zip tie & jb weld :D
temp fix

looks like it's time for a new slip-on & a new foot peg bracket,
I'd guess 500 clams

how'd you do that?

well, the crack is pretty far down past the muffler tip, it's practically under the bike... how far does the slip on go to?

slip-on (actually bolt-on just replaces muffler on these bikes) won't help- bike needs a whole new footpeg/exhaust bracket. then weld up that pipe crack. but if it's rusted already, expect other failures so maybe best to source replacement either stock headers/mid-pipe or new full system.

I gotta' extra Leo Vince can if you interested, sounds wow, no rejet required just bolt on (once you fix pipes and hanger) and go.

If you don't mind loosing your rear peg you could just make a bracket out of metal that replaces the whole footpeg assembly. I don't see any problem with some with even decent welding skill being able to weld up the exhaust

i want to go the cheapest route, i'm a college boy :p i'm already poor. i went to the Honda/Kawasaki in Fremont, and the footpeg part was $69 the dude said. Could i find it somewhere cheaper? Cuz i kno usually dealers bend u over and take ur money.

so i can just go to any ol' welding place and see if they'll weld that part?

there'a muzzy full sys in the barf classifieds still I believe! then either weld stock hanger, buy used one, make a bracket or whatever. safety wire it if you have to :p like weasel said about five bills and you done. hmm, full sys will require jetting though.

tanstaafl

hangers try www.targa-acc.com for one or lockhart-phillips etc. ronayers.com ? sage out of Coloradao specializes in Ninja's etc.

any muffler shop should just weld it up for like 5 bucks.

hell, i shortened my micron slip on by a couple inches and the shop charged me only 10 bucks, and that actually took some work.

just take the fairings off so the guy could get to it easily. there should be no problem with it, unless the guy has something against sportbikes...

As much as Fremont Cycle salvage sucks there probably have your rear bracket. I got a front bracket from there for $20. They have some bins full of brackets in the back and you can just ask to look through them.

It can be welded (I've seen it done), but since the part is cast aluminum, it'll be tricky.

Best bet is too search both local and on-line salvage places for a used one. It's generally half the cost of retail.

oh hooli, i was gonna see to weld exhaust, nto the bracket part :p anyway, i got the bracket at a salvage shop and it was $25, kawa deal was gonna charge me $69, online store $50. so i'm happy.

Question two: Jetting, or rejetting. If i get a new exhaust, how much is the ball park price of rejetting it? and where can i get it done around the Hayward/Fremont area?
