1ST EUROPEAN SUPERMOTARD DES NATION
ALPE d'HUEZ, France - AUGUST 2nd and 3 rd, 2003

Thanks to ABC COMMUNICATION, and to the active contribution of UEM (headed by Dieter JUNGE), the 1st MAXXIS EUROPEAN SUPERMOTARD DES NATIONS is setup to become the SuperMotard event of the year 2003!!! European national teams will compete against each other in the wonderful and magic place of ALPE d'HUEZ on August 2nd and 3rd 2003.
The ALPE D'HUEZ ski resort, located 50 km east of Grenoble, has rapidly become one of the best European SuperMotard racing places since 1999 thanks to ALPE city hall, Tourism Office, and ALP' MOTEUR EVENEMENT. Not only is ALPE D'HUEZ one of the greatest European meeting places for SuperMotard racing, but it is also a high point of the "Tour de France", overlooked place of cycling and home of the greatest ski champions."The isle of the sun" and its 1300 meters long track located at 1800 meters of altitude is the ideal place for SuperMotard racing as well as family vacation.

Competition for the 1st MAXXIS EUROPEAN SUPERMOTARD DES NATIONS will be national teams comprised of 3 riders each. The teams are selected by their respective national federations and have one rider in SM 450cc, one in SM 650cc and the 3rd rider in OPEN class (free moto, 450 or 650)…… 3 races will establish the selection between riders, each rider competing in 2 races thus giving each National Team a maximum of 6 results; the 5 bests results being taken into account for the final General Classification.

ENGLAND: STEELE (HVA 650), IDDON (HUSABERG 650), HAIGH (HONDA 450) but Kurt NICOLL (KTM) and the enduro man, Dave KNIGHT (YAMAHA) also want to join the fun.
The keen interest is very important in Europe and several other nations such as HUNGARY, CROATIA, CZECH REP., ESTONIA, or GREECE will be in Alpe d'Huez as well. Some 15 nations are expected at this exciting challenge, and access will be totally FREE!!!
The French Championship 50cc and a OPEN race with the best French riders will complete the program of this 1st MAXXIS EUROPEAN SUPERMOTARD DES NATIONS, which should be a huge success, with the team presentation being held on Friday night.
