Allright I got a few ?'s here.
1. How easy is it to fly over the front of the bike doing a stoppie?.. also how do I do a rolling stoppie?
2. I am having problems with wheelies... any help?
3. :eek I got the tank stand down fairly well but I want more... what's next?

although my bike isn't as powerful and stylish as a gixxer :twofinger, i'm able to bring it up pretty high in first using the "roll-on" method. in first, you roll out in a straight line about 10-15 mph or in the 6500 rpm range, roll-off the throttle, and quickly, jolt/roll-on the the throttle. if your front comes up and continues coming up, DON'T PANIC!!! just release the throttle and you'll come crashing down :D (hold on tight, cuz it's gonna be a rough landing)
ummm, yeah, do this at your own risk and in a secluded area, not at a stop light turned green on front of a civic full of chicks on Capitol Expwy :twofinger

1. if you sprinkle a little pixie dust, anything is possible :D unless you're doing 11 o clock stoppies or get freaked out prematurely, i wouldn't worry about flying over unless you grab a handful of brake at 80mph or something stupid. rolling stoppie...i'm sure any of the BTBoys can help you out as well as ken5150 but it's just a matter of practice. get the stoppies down 1st then the rolling ones. baby steps.
2. 99 gix 600 is slightly down on power (compared to the newest 1's anyway) but should come up easy in 1st. get it to about 5-7k RPM, roll off the throttle then whack it open. that should get the front end off the ground.
3. elevators: jump from the pegs to the tank and/or seat. skitchen. side, rear, whatever.

Forget roll-ons, gsxr600 @ 4000rpms grab clutch,rev to 9thou-ish and drop clutch....it'll wheelie, I promise!

to do wheelies in first gear.. just have to remember...baby steps. Ive seen alot of people go from half decent sit down wheelies to straight stand up wheelies , but theyre so out of control. i would not advise you to pop the clutch to get it to wheelie as this puts unnecessary strain on your motor and tranny, etc. however if you feel this method is more to your liking, then rev to about 3grand and pop it...if it doesnt come up, then go up in incriments of 500rpm..rev to about 3500 and pop and so forth untill you find that sweet spot in the rpm range that allows you to bring the front end up in a fairly controlled way. remember that with clutch wheelies, when you pop it, the clutch is actually slighly slipping untill it catches...when it catches you have to feel for it and ease off the throttle slightly otherwise you will go over backward. you can tell when it catches because the bike becomes very responsive to every lil throttle input. it is not very responsive during the intial launch and will feel very "clammy/sluggish". Id suggest that you read my sit downwheelie HOW -TO but unfortunately i dont know where the hell its at. LOL! I hope this is helpful to you.
( practice makes perfect, and be prepared to shell out some money to rebuild your shocks by the time you've actually mastered the art of wheelies cuz you would have abused the shit out of them during the learning process)

My 2 cents... and believe me, that's ALL it's worth...
I'm more comfortable w/ stoppies and endos than wheelies, I don't know why but it seems to vary from person to person. Instance, BTB, and BentR6 are the front-wheel madmen and can offer way more insight. Ken5150 is getting rusty... :twofinger
As for "can you flip it"... HELL YES! Until the 2WD R1 is released you can't recover once you pass the balance point. Remember that once you start really lifing the rear wheel it requires less brake to hold it up there. Work on low altitude first, get the hang of it, and start working it higher. For some reaon I'm more comfortable with the endos than I am with the stoppies on the Gixxer -- no idea why, YMMV.
As for wheelies, I could lift (not high, mind you - I've yet to reach the balance point) the wheel on my under-powered Kawi as low as 3,000 RPM... it's all technique. I continually hear arguments over clutch vs throttle, that's going to come down to personal taste. As for the newer Gixxer (mine's a 2K2) it will pop in 2nd w/o problems and w/o clutch. You should easily be able to loft that puppy up in 1st.
Your "tank stand", I'm assuming, is a Christ? I think the next step is beautifully demonstrated in FTP3... get a throttle lock (or use the choke), strike your pose, and learn to turn while you're up there.
Be safe - don't rush things - and be considerate to the rest of the population by practicing out of the way of cars, bikes, pedestrians, etc.

wheelies: from what ive done, in 2nd gear go 60mph, close the throttle and bounce as hard as you can on your pegs and simultaneously open the throttle all the way...you'll be able to control it and hold. but do so at your own risk.
endos: everyone on barf keeps saying that endos are hard to flip, well, i guess i fu*ked. i was only going 15 mph and started to progressively brake and transfer weight to the front forks, when i got to the point where all the weight felt like it was at the front i pulled in the brake more and up went my rear tire...i probably pulled it to 11:00 when i panicked and instead of releasing the brake a lil to come down i kept holding the brake and i went tumblin over...good thing i kicked my pegs backwards so that my bike landed right side up and fell over.
my best advice, have a friend stand near where you want to endo and catch you if you fall or bring your bike down if you go flyin forward.

i know it was 6 months ago, but it doesn't look like anyone answered the guy...and if ya are only getting your bikes up a foot or less, you must be going like 2mph...or your rear is heavy as f**k. but even when im going 15mph or even 10mph, my rear comes up like nada...maybe its cuz i have 350 lb bike...could be.
peace
see yas at the barf fest...you think honda of milpitas will kick me out for bringing my gixxer? lol. f**k it, ill:troy em' all.
